My desktop has the entire Proton collection of apps loaded. This includes a paid VPN. I want a VPN for my laptop as well....is it possible to load Firefox free VPN to just my laptop? Or, if the addition of free VPN is universal to all Firefox installations, is there a way to deactivate the Firefox VPN on a certain separate device? Thanks for your time!

Since last update i'm unable to browse websites like youtube, social media and all other websites with video content. Video often fails to load,the wholewebsite is not loading, freezes while played or while exiting full screen mode. All of these freezes the browser - the site cannot be refreshed, links does not work. The only way is to close the tab with the freezed page or kill the Firefox process in windows Task Manager. Refreshing, re-installing, deleting or using different profile don't work. Same with add-ons. Seems like the issue lies within the browser and it started to appear since last update.

Firefox is my browser but unable to access email page, "Access denied. You don't have permission to access .... on this server". Internet operating ok otherwise. Also, I have an old Windows 7 laptop which works fine - emails available and open ok.

I updated Firefox a few minutes ago and closed everything to let it finish. When I reopened it, all my bookmarks were gone. I checked the restore option in the Bookmarks menu, but only today's date was available, and clicking it did nothing. I found the bookmarkbackups folder in my profile directory, but there's only one file—859 bytes, which is basically empty. I'm signed into a Firefox account now, but my bookmarks aren't syncing from the server, which suggests they were never synced. Is there any way to recover them, or are they just gone?

In Windows 11, how do I add the Firefox icon to the extreme top left of its webpages?

When I switch tabs to Firefox, typically using Alt+Tab, I am often unsure at first which program I am in. I have searched Firefox settings, and googled extensively, and there seems to be no way to add the icon back. I believe that it was once there, but I am unsure of this.

Almost every other program places its icon on the top left of its pages. Surely it is possible to do the same in Firefox, which just has an empty space there.

(But I am wrong on the last point, because Edge, which I rarely use, also has no icon there. Surely Firefox does not want to share any problem that Edge has!)

All the tabs, in both my profiles are constantly crashing. I cannot keep at a task for more than a few minutes without needing to restart the tab. Is this a setting problem? I've cleared the cache, and reset Firefox, to no avail. Thank you for any relevant advice and/or assistance.

I am using the Firefox browser. Lately it has been redirecting me to a malicious website: mercu-wgp.com/zclkvisitor. What can I do to prevent this? I have FF 150.0.3 64 bit on a W'11 computer.

I start the Firefox Browser from an icon on the desktop. This icon does not have a padlock symbol in the upper right corner of the icon. When the Firefox Browser starts an icon with a padlock symbol located in the upper right corner of the icon appear on the taskbar. What is the significance or the padlock symbol? What causes the padlock symbol to appear? How do I disable this option? Is this a feature added with a recent update to Firefox?

EOM, basically. I click on my home page icon (which is www.yahoo.com). Firefox executes that properly, but totally on its own, goes blank within 30 seconds. Does not happen when using Google Chrome. This started happening about 5-7 days ago.
