I use a MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.11 and the latest version of FireFox (72.0.2) and I'm unable to figure out how to bring up the Context menu. With previous versions of FireFox. I could hold down the Control key and click a tab and that would bring up the Context menu. But with the latest versions of FireFox, that option is no longer available.

I suppose if I bought a two-button mouse, I could bring up the Context menu with the right button, but you should be able to bring up the Context menu with the trackpad that come with Apple's MacBook Pro.

So how do you bring up the Context menu on an Apple MacBook Pro?

Thank you so much.

New Tabs and even sometimes first tab do not load any page and become just "dead"

Open in New Tab and Ctr T is like a roll of dice now, the same page sometimes loads sometimes doesn't, usually closing FF and re-opening solves it.

This has been happening quite frequently so I tried several builds and solutions, uninstalled and reinstalled with new profile, safe mode, no add-ons or themes, both 32 and 64 bit, ESR, etc.. (I'm on Win10 64 bit)

If anyone is experiencing something similar or have an idea let me know please I've been using Firefox for longer than I remember and I would hate to switch now

Is there a way to get rid of it, perhaps with CSS or something?

I find that I dislike many of the standard installation configurations. I'm a tech and install Firefox to get users away from those "other" browsers. But there's too much I don't like and it takes me too long to reconfigure each new installation.

So... I'd love to have a configuration script or something that could be run with the Firefox installer, full one if necessary, that would do all the tweaks I do after a new installation.

Examples. Remove all the extra stuff in the area to the right of the address bar. Leave and change download arrow to NOT hide when not currently used. (Who thought of that should be fired). Put old bookmarks icon back in place of other one. Remove the blank spaces on each side of the address bar.

And configure non-default options such as ask where to download instead of default to downloads, load previous tabs on startup, set default home page, disable password remembering, etc.

And, ideally allow installation of add-ons I always utilize like Bitwarden password manager (much preferred to Firefox's storing them), and Adblock Plus.

Any chance of any of this becoming available? Really don't want to use one of the screen recording/macro programs to do it.

Thanks.

Assume you create a new window (pop-up) using javascript and have its content be something like this:

<html>
<body>
  <form action="some_action.php" target="_blank">
     ... some form fields ...

     <button onclick="window.close()">
        submit in new tab & close pop-up
     </button>
  </form>

  <a href="some_page.php" target="_blank" onclick="window.close()">
     open link in new tab & close pop-up
  </a>
</body>
</html>

If you click the button "submit in new tab & close pop-up" the following should happen:

  1. Firefox submits the form in a new tab (because target="_blank" is set in the <form>)
  2. The pop-up closes itself (because onclick="window.close()" is set)

And if you click the link "open link in new tab & close pop-up" the following should happen:

  1. Firefox opens the link in a new tab (because target="_blank" is set in the <a>)
  2. The pop-up closes itself (because onclick="window.close()" is set)

However, what happens instead is this:

  1. Firefox only opens an empty tab, i.e. the submission of the form / the opening of the link fails
  2. The pop-up closes itself

This clearly seems to be a bug, right? Is this a known problem? I tested it with older versions and the problem apparently was introduced relatively recently with Firefox 72. More precisely, the form submission bug was introduced with Firefox 72 Beta 1 and the link opening bug was introduced with Firefox 72 Beta 7.

In Chrome and Internet Explorer both cases work as expected.

I just upgraded to Firefox 77, x64, Windows 10 2004.

Firefox 76 already broke LockWise - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1287008

Now Firefox 77 breaks 99% of all websites. (See attached screenshot.) www.example.com www.google.com www.wikipedia.org etc

Somehow, support.mozilla.org works, UNTIL I try to log in.

I've tried incognito mode, safe mode, etc. When I change charset of the page, the text displays differently, but it's still a useless mishmash.

--- BUT --- when I open developer tools, click the HTML request and click the Response tab, the HTML renders correctly there.

Hello,

One website gives me a failed secure connection:

An error occurred while connecting to www.cdkeypt.pt. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

This error is in Firefox but this site doesn't work in any browser

I restart the pc when it re-enters the desktop if i open the browser before the computer fully starts the site works fine which makes me conclued that something is interfering with it and it most be an update or something because i didn't install anything new, but what? it is only this site that doesn't work all the others are working fine.

I tested opening the site in another pc in my network and it works fine.

I hope someone can help me,

Thanks

I did not make any changes to options. When I started today, I went to find a website from history and all my history from the day before was gone. AND have of the list space was full of bookmarks. How could bookmarks be in history? Why is my history gone?

Is there some keyboard command that was done by accident to cause this? This has never happened before.

My dad uses Chrome not Firefox. So anything he does should not affect my settings.

Is there a way to fix this? or to keep it from happening in the future?

During the meeting, when I navigate to other windows, there's small a FireFox window that allows me to navigate back to the meeting, and is shown on top of all other windows. So far so good. The problem is that meetings end, I close the meeting windows, but this small Windows stay on top, cannot be closed, clicking on it does nothing. I can just move it right and left. How can I get rid of it when there's no meeting? Thanks

I use few extensions which I disabled them completely when I read PDF but still I am unable to access PDF. While same PDFs are easily readable by other browsers like Chrome or Edge.

Please let me know is it a bug or there is some settings to tweak. Thanks in advance.

I am using Hotdocs portal, which is an in-house document assembly tool. Firefox is the recommended browser, but it is recently handling 2016 docx files incorrectly. When we choose a file on the portal site (internal site), we go through the interview and are presented with a link to "download" the assembled file. When you click that link, a pop-up appears showing the file name as abc.docx but then says it is a Word 97 - 2003 document, even though it is not. The original template is not. If I choose to open the file, it ends up opening and showing as abc.docx.doc If I save the file, instead of opening it, it saves as abc.docx.

If we run this same process in IE/Edge, the file opens as abc.docx as it should. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Is there anything that could be causing this? I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps and nothing seems to change this outcome.

Thank you.
