Hello,

Everytime I have to close my pc with updates or if I just close/ restart it or if it crashed and I have to restart everything, all my most recent tabs (when I do restore last session) are gone but I get all the tabs back from weeks or even months ago. It's very annoying especially I do research and study. I really don't understand. It's like going back in time every time it starts again  :( What is happening ?

Thank you for your help ! Vanessa

I had a crash and the file for about:profiles is not there. It lists a possibility but it says it cannot locate the file (duh). I have a lot of tabs and I need them back. I look in the file locations and other than what the blank profile it is setting up there is only one from about two months ago in local and nothing old in roaming. When I use space sniffer it shows a large file size for what it is using for the current empty default file. It seems like the tabs are there but it is not accessing them. Any way to access those or the files if nothing else? I would rather not just use scrounger at this point unless absolutely necessary. It seems like firefox should have a default to save more than just one recent backup and it would help a lot with this kind of messup. Thanks for any ideas.

I have a wordpress blog website. I'm trying to setup google Adsense advertisements on that blog. I seem to have been partly successful because ads are showing in that website when I browse it with the mobile smartphone (also using firefox browser).

But when I try to look for the same advertisements on Firefox, on my laptop computer, the ads are not showing. Instead where the Ad should show, there is a light yellow cream coloured box / space.

I wondered if this is because there might be some kind of automatic ad-blocking on Firefox. But ads of other websites show up fine. Do you have any idea about what to do about this?

I tried whitelisting the site, but then, I'm not sure which site to put it on, and where. What I tried did not work.

I'm using firefox from Debian linux computer. Thanks.K.R

On my computer, I run Mageia Cauldron with a GNOME environment. After a recent update of my system, both Firefox and Thunderbird have stopped working. They crash constantly when I try to launch either of them. In both cases, when I try to launch them from the command line, I get the following message: ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment. ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment. Segmentation fault (core dumped)

For basic info, my system is: OS: Linux Mageia Cauldron Environment: GNOME Shell 43.1 Display server: X11 Kernel: 6.1.8-desktop-1.mga9 x86_64 Firefox: 102.7.0esr Thunderbird: 102.6.1

Looking around, it seems to be a bug with Firefox and Thunderbird, but besides waiting for a new update that might fix itself, I wonder if there is something I can do to make them work now.

Thank you.

One of the help page say: Firefox Desktop encrypts your passwords locally in your user profile directory using a logins.json file. Firefox Desktop uses simple cryptography to obscure your passwords. Mozilla doesn’t have the ability to see passwords, but Firefox Desktop does decrypt the password locally so that it can enter them into form fields.

My understanding is that my local installation uses some auto-generated key to hash my passwords in logins.json. So I established my primary password hoping that all passwords in logins.json will be re-hashed with my new password. But surprisingly ll hashes remain the same. So, where is the security?

After tuning userChrome.css to have tabs on bottom there is a small gap under the tabs towards the page render area. I could not identify the origin of this gap nor which UI object is causing it. Could some expert help remove the gap? Please see attached screen copy and userChrome file below for info.

Get old profile data working with Firefox-ESR on Debian 11

Hello,

after install Debian 11 I tried to move my profile data (comming from regular Firefox on Linuxmint Cinnamon) as is suggested by https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile, but I found no way to get the job done.

After repeating several times the same procedure, I concluded that Firefox-ESR simply doesn't work with all the regular ".sqlite" and ".json" files comming from regular Firefox.

¿Is any workaround to get Firefox-ESR working with my old data? Is is importan because my old profile holds access data for many differents sites during more than a decade.

Thanks,

The update 102.6.0esr (64-bit) on 12/3/2022 caused my website application that uses Google for authentication to hang. I went to my Google profile and deleted the authorization for the website and cleared cookies, but the website still hangs waiting for authorization from Google. I am able to log into the website using Chrome. Firefox was working fine until Tuesday when I received the update.
