Noticing that on Windows 11 with Firefox 103, bookmarking a page no longer asks you where you want to put it ; it just throws it in the last folder into which you bookmarked something else. This is Windows 11 with all the latest updates as of 7-31-22. Now I tried Firefox 103 on Windows 7 sp1 and had no problems whatsoever assigning a specific folder for bookmarks, so this leads me to believe that something in Firefox 103 is not jiving correctly with the latest updates in Windows 11, or just Windows 11 itself in general. I just restored my bookmarks and found I needed to add some bookmarks to my bookmarks bar. However, I couldn't drag the site's padlock to the bookmarks bar. I have an overflowing bar, but the link didn't go into the overflow area. What's wrong here?

Since upgrading Firefox my bookmarks are now in a list of other things such as History, downloads and password etc. Previously my bookmarks were listed on the toolbar. How can I get them back on to the toolbar folks

Last week, I exported my bookmarks to an HTML file (as I do every month). Today, I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. I was able to restore my profile, but I can't get FFX to restore my bookmarks from last week's backup. I bring up the bookmark manger, click on "Restore from HTML", and point to the backup file. I click "Open", but nothing happens. I've done this in the past with no problems, but I can't seem to do it this time. What's wrong, and what do I have to do to fix it?

Just posting this to confirm that the solution provided by cor-el in an archived thread (four years ago) works, if you want to change your bookmark folder icons.

After clicking the top right menu icon from the browser, going to Help > More Troubleshooting Information, and then opening the Profile Folder location, I added a `chrome` folder to the root of the directory, and created an empty `userChrome.css` file within it.

I then added the following to `userChrome.css`. On startup it successfully changed the folder icons (I just didn't want any icon for each folder, so I set it to none):

Hi there,

All the icons on the taskbar when I open up Firefox have disappeared... and I now have the same "world" type symbol for everything. I've Googled and followed instructions, but I'm not seeing what the instructions are telling me to look for, so I can't make the changes.

Can you please send me a step-by-step on how to resolve this. I can't even 'open a page in a new tab'. That function has also disappeared.  ?????

I don't know what could have caused this. Would appreciate your help.

Hi, 2 days ago i have made an update of the browser and all seems ok. The day after when i have switch on the laptop i have opened firefox as usal but the browser has start to asked me to sign in in my profile :-(. And all my bookmarks and passwords was lost. Seems like the browser was new and empty. Honestly I'm not aware if I have never made a profile on firefox but I'm using it since many years so that my bookmarks was very full about work info :-( There is a way to recover all my old bookmarks and password? I have tryind to search it via about:profiles, but I failed. Please help!

I have tried as suggested to delete bookmarks and then reinstall but I still get the same problem for some sites. I have actually tried installing them on MS Edge and they work but when I add them to Firefox it fails. I have used Firefox for about twenty years but this seems to be an ongoing problem. I even looked at doing this manually but that looked daunting. Included is a screen shot showing two that have not worked and have been tried several times.

Today, clicking on a brand new bookmark works and shows it's url at bottom of page when hoovering mouse over bookmark. None of the older bookmarks are working and none show the url at bottom of page.

Is there a way to create categories on Bookmarks Toolbar?

I have many bookmarks and I just want to organise them by naming the front of the row. I might need to add empty spacers too. For example, Banking - has about 8 bookmarks, then new row will be Crypto - 11 bookmarks, Social Media - 4 bookmarks, News - 6 bookmarks and so on.

I have searched for this everywhere but no answer as yet. Does anyone have trick they use to achieve something similar to above?

I am using Firefox ver 102.01 64 bit on Win 10 laptop. In the bookmarks sidebar, the folders and individual links used to be integrated with each other in one alphabetical list. But, about 3 months ago, somehow the sidebar bookmarks bot separated from each other and now show only as two distinct groups: the folders all alphabetized separately appear at the head of the list, then the individual links are listed under the folders, alphabetized. Attached is a screen capture using SnagIt showing the sidebar as it is currently . Hopefully, someone knows how to revert to the previous bookmarks sidebar view where all bookmarks (folders and individual links) are integrated with each other alphabetically. Thank you for your help.

after updating to 103 my the bookmark toolbar become blank and i cannot add any new bookmarks like by selecting tab then drag it to bookmark tool bar it was perfect before i updated firefox one hour ago ..what happened ??

I open "Manage Bookmarks." I open "Library." In "Search Bookmarks," I enter what I'm searching for, assume NY Times.' All the Times links are displayed. I see in the "Name" field at the bottom that I misspelled a word in a displayed link; e.g., "Pul" instead of "Paul." I go to the "Name" field, add the missing "a", then click on an adjoining link. The edit does not take place - like it used to.

How do I edit the "Name" field in the library?

In Chrome I can browse my bookmark tree, right click on a folder and "Add Page", which directly adds the current URL to that folder. Firefox shows only "Add (a blank) Bookmark", "Add Folder", etc. No way to add the current page. Is there a way to add that I'm not seeing, other than dragging the URL physically?

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times?
