I wanted to add a comment to one of these two old unsolved threads[*], but they are locked. Someone at forums management wrongly thinks that "old" means "solved".

What I wanted to add is I found a partial solution:

Press F12 to open developer tools Click the Debugger tab if it is not already the default open On the right side there is a column with a Pause button at the top and the items Threads, Watch expressions, Breakpoints, XHR Breakpoints, Event Listener Breakpoints, then "Filter by event type".

You can directly click the pause button or check the Animation event type. The site will freeze but the downside is the look will turn greyish.

Does anyone know how to pause but keep the normal colors/contrast look of the site without fading to grey?

Hi,

Let me start with two points: (a) this is the first time that I've used this site, so if I do anything incorrectly please tell me, and, (b) I'm no technician (I use Firefox because I believe in Mozilla's business principles) but I can follow instructions. OK, so having said that …

I am using the latest version of Firefox [98.0.2 (64-bit)] on a bog standard Dell laptop under Windows 10 [Edition Windows 10 Home, Version 21H2, OS build 19044.1620, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0].

I have recently opened an HSBC bank account. If I try to access their online banking site (https://www.hsbc.co.uk/) using Firefox (which I should very much prefer to do than with any other browser), it is missing the most important feature of 'Chat' (the only sensible way of talking to HSBC without a half hour wait). However, if I access it using any other browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge) the 'chat' facility is available. See the bottom right-hand corner of the two screenshots attached (except that I've just found that I cannot attach the two jpg screenshots to this message - is that also a clue as to what may be wrong?) Please note that with Firefox I am using a 'container' (called HSBC) - I don't think that Edge has similar facilities.

Can anybody tell me if I have some setting or other (e.g., to do with, say, 'pop-ups') set incorrectly?

Thank you and best regards

John

Hi there. I use the Autodesk Free Online Viewer to share models with clients so they can see their house designs in 3D. Just recently, many of the tools stopped working on Firefox and the model itself is grayed out so that you can't see most of the detail. When I open the model on Chrome it works just fine. I usually use Firefox for my personal business interactions just because it makes it easier to keep things separate from my emails and research for my full time job at a commercial architecture firm. Any ideas? My Firefox is updated and I didn't add anything to the browser since the last time I used the viewer. Here is a link that will be viewable for the next 25 days if you want to take a look: https://autode.sk/35Jdz2Q. I have also attached an image to show how the model is grayed out and I circled the tools that are not working or are missing. Appreciate any ideas.

I need to access Canvas as part of my school coursework. As of yesterday, Canvas refuses to load in Firefox. I've restarted my Mac, made sure Firefox is up to date, and tried running Canvas in Chrome, where it worked just fine. My internet connection is also stable. All other websites seem to be working in Firefox, but for some reason Canvas doesn't load after any amount of time and the interface appears as the attached image. Any help? Firefox is my preferred browser and I actually cannot do any online coursework without Canvas, so any suggestions or advice are very welcome.

Dear Sirs,

I am using a web app that stores files of many formats: pdf, jpg, xls, etc.

In Internet Explorer when I press the link to the file the file is opened with the application designated in Windows as default.

I think this is called MIME Type.

Firefox does not open the files, it sends the file to the download queue so I need to look for a new window and get into the downloads folder to open the files.

How can I correct this?

Thank You in advance for your kind help.

Whenever an update is done, some issues come to mess up my computer. So, is it possible that someone can help me solve this issue?

What can I do to prevent websites from logging me out "due to inactivity" and "for your safety" (lol)? This happens with many of my financial (banking/brokerage) sites, for instance, or some tax return sites.

I went them to be like my email accounts (e.g. gmail, yahoo mail). You can have a tab open for Gmail and another tab open for yahoo mail, and even if you don't click or type a single character in hours, they will not log me out.

Is there some way to trick these patronizing "We'll log you out for your good" websites from logging me off?

So, I was an bought an Jabra Elite 85h headphones few weeks ago for gaming and watching YouTube videos. They were working fine until today when I was watching PUBG gameplay videos on YouTube (on Firefox). They operate perfectly great in Chrome, however when I use Firefox, It produces very low sound and It's really bothering me. I was also tried to increase the headphones volume by following the steps mentioned here.

https://www.headphoneoutput.com/how-to-make-headphones-louder/

But It's not working. I don't what to do. This is not an headphones issue but I think It might be a compatibility issue with Firefox? I can't afford the new headphones. :(
