I'm using Firefox 135.0 on a MacBook Pro with a large external monitor.

The menu bar at the top of the screen (NOT the Firefox window) has "Firefox, File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Windows, Help".

When I click on "History", it shows me the most recent 15 pages I visited. Always 15. I'd like to increase that number, as 15 is inconveniently few and uses less than half my screen height. However, I can't find a preference for it either under "Settings" or in "about:config".

I know that there are at least two ways to get to a more extensive history list, but they need more clicks.

So is there a way to change 15 into a larger number?

Thanks. Brendan.

Description: I would like to request the addition of a "Go to Last Used Tab" shortcut, also commonly referred to as a "Recall" feature. This functionality is extremely useful for quickly switching between the last two active tabs without needing to cycle through all open tabs.

Currently, I use Ctrl+Tab to cycle through tabs in order and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to cycle in reverse order. While this works, it is not ideal for scenarios where I frequently need to switch between two specific tabs (e.g., tab #25 for monitoring the progress of a web app and tab #129 for working on an email). In such cases, having a dedicated shortcut to jump directly to the last used tab would significantly improve productivity and usability.

Proposed Solution: Add a new keyboard shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+Backtick or a user-configurable option) that allows users to instantly switch to the last used tab.

Benefits:

Reduces the need to manually cycle through tabs, saving time.
Enhances workflow efficiency when multitasking across multiple tabs.
Aligns Firefox with features available in other modern browsers.

Use Case Example:

I’m actively working on a task in tab #129 (e.g., writing an email).
I periodically check the progress of a web app in tab #25.
Instead of cycling through tabs using Ctrl+Tab or searching for the desired tab, I could simply press a "Recall" shortcut to toggle between these two tabs instantly.

This feature would greatly enhance the user experience, especially for power users who frequently switch between tabs.

It is the 'Search Bar' function on your Browser! It's an absolute nuisance to use. When you begin typing a question into the search bar it immediately (as you all know) diverts to the Address bar in the Browser. Your eyes have to divert your focus and attention every single time you use the Search Bar making the process fatiguing, exacerbated by having to put up with the smaller font used in the address bar. Google, EDGE and Opera, Doesn't use this method only Firefox. It's a real pain and the is the sole reason I will never make 'Fox' my default Browser.

Hello! I really enjoy using the Firefox browser. I just wanted to suggest that you have an option to write notes in each password profile that can also be secure. My iPhone has a notes section under each password profile. I use it to write info such as my airline advantage number, the email I used with that particular website, membership numbers, etc. I'm getting up there in age, so while I'm working on simplifying my life it helps to make notes to remember stuff. Can you suggest this idea to the right people at Firefox or Mozilla? Thank you for your help and consideration. Carolyn

Note: I am using an older computer at home right now but do use a new computer at work and will be upgrading at home soon.

I appreciate the "Translate Selection To" in the right click context menu is in Beta. For me it works but not as well as it might. For example, I am English, my laptop is set to English, I am viewing a website in English but it has some foreign text on it, so I hightlight the text, right click and I am offered to "Translate Selection To ... Slovenian" Why???

I then have to tell it the language of the source/highlighted text and I have to tell it I want the result in English. I can accept it might not recognise the language of the source text but it is very annoying that it assumes I want it converted to Slovenian instead of the systems default language.

To make it worse, having changed the languages to those I want, it doesn't remember them and the next time I use it I'm back to square one.

This would be a really useful feature if only it was logical.

All,

There is a major a major problem with saving emails & bookmarks, based on another violation of the 1st cardinal law of IT to: NEVER EVER ASSUME anything!

When trying to save either an email or bookmark % you are attempting to find an existing subfolder or subcategory, the search does not wait for you to enter the complete names but starts searching on the 1st character. When you know the exact name of the place to save this is super irritating & you cannot find the subfolder or subcategory, so keep having to create new folders. because of this problem I now have well over 2,000 folders, subfolders, categories & subcategories.

The assumption that a user will only have a limited number of folders & categories is totally asinine, so fix this ASAP Please. Also this field does not allow pasting values into the field & must because when you know the exact name of the parent folder, but cannot paste thar name into this field, the USER is already cursing you for your stupidity!

Noe I know you guys monitoring this are not the develpers, but you have contacts with them, we do not have so pass this along!

Cheers! TBNK

I'm wondering if there's a way to MOVE open browser windows in the way that you can move tabs around within a window? I do a lot of research and I work this way in order to go back to a particular subject and continue where I left off. Right now I have 20 windows open with any where from 5 to 12 tabs in some of these windows. When using my pointer I see only the tab that was opened in a particular window when I closed FF. I tried holding the pointer and dragging the open windows in the task bar...but no luck.

I guess I'm asking if there's anyway I could get a quick view of what every tab in every window open actually is, or perhaps use search words to find what I'm looking for?

Thank you any response ~~Bonnie

is there is a way to make the side bar movement smoother like when you use the vertical tabs the movement of its bar is smooth so is there is a way to do the same thing to the side bar also i think it will be better if the side bar was in the top of the site cuz most of the time you will not use it you are just gonna open it to access the history or the bookmarks and close it again so there is no need to mess the page layout to match the new window size every time i open it if i need to press or see something behind it i will just close it .

Hi, BIG fan, but.. Is there any way to "convince" the beauuutiful dev`s to give us a radio check box in the settings that says "I know what I`m doing so I will update when I see the need" (and in fact turn off the veeeery annoying "UPDATE!!, UPDATE!!"... window, that is driving me inane. Comes up like something was on fire :( then it is just some minor thing for those that love streaming... that means... not me. I don not want to, but I probably have to (after umpften years with the fox) start looking for a browser that does not drive me nuts. Give people the option to update if and when they want to, without a over needy window in the top right eeevery 10 seconds, give it a rest, please?

I'm a retiree in my mid 70's...I've heard that Firefox will stop extending ESR's past March of this year. I'm not in a position to buy and update all my software and laptop & desktop the latter can't go any higher on Mac OS. So I'm asking that you please consider continuing support for older browsers. My browser is Mac Safari 14.1.2, I would be OK making a good sized donation to Mozilla or paying a monthly subscription if necessary to be kept updated on Firefox ESR's. I've seen other inquiries on your site from others asking about the same thing. So please consider my request and let me know if there's anything I can do to get your continued ESR support for my computers. It would mean a great deal to me and I know quite a few others as well...So please pass my thoughts up to management and I will hope for the best...

My Thanks,

Tom D.

by jump to specific history, I mean something like search in library > bookmark and right-click on specific link then "show in folder"

it would be very helpful if something equivalent of "show in folder" exists in the context of history search, I often search specific site and wondering what else sites I opened around that time (relative to specific site I found on search results)

if there's any workaround or alternatives, please leave a comment! ^^
