This started happening after I had a web browser hijacker that hijacked Windows Edge. My software company did a remote session and fixed that. But, if using Firefox, at every single site I go to, even yahoo email, it keeps asking me if I want to update my logon information. I have never seen it do that before, it is like it wants me to do that so it can see my new password????? I have no reason to update my logon info, and would do that myself as I feel necessary. I completely removed Firefox, went to Mozilla main site, and downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, and it is still asking everywhere I go. Do I have another bug in my system that is only affecting Firefox? Edge runs fine now, as does IE but I never use IE anymore. Please help. Robert

Updated to the most recent version of firefox (running 49.0.1) after i got a notification saying there was a new version available. Today i went to a website that i had my password saved for, but it wasn't showing up when i tried to log in. Went to my saved passwords and all of my old logins + passwords are gone, only have what i've saved since the update . I went through a few of the 'lost saved password' questions and have tried to restore previous versions of logins.json (i also noticed a corrupt logins.json file in my profile), I also tried to make a new profile and copy over logins, i booted in safe mode etc but nothing is working. Is there anything I can do to get my passwords back?!

I have an extension which communicates with a native application in windows. Extension(password manager) which takes username and password and sends it to native application to store it in the database. While sending credentials from extension to native application, i want to encrypt them. For chrome extension, NACL (native client) is being used to encrypt and decrypt the credentials before sending to native application.

I can implement encryption in javascript, but it can be hacked easily since secret key will be visible in browser, but if i use native code apis for encryption, then keys are not open in javascript.

Please let me know some way to embed native code( like Google NACL) in my extension javascript code.

Hello,

My stored passwords have been reset to older versions. It looks like the passwords I had last year. Mmy language packs and plugins are totally gone. I'm using W10, 64b.

I always worked in synchronise mode. Is there a way to get this fixed?

Another anoying problem is facebook, I'm not able to play its movies. Firefox keeps asking me to redo an update which I did but it did not chance anything.

I hope someone can help.

Regards, Martial

I have AVAST running on my computer in passive mode; I simply have not bothered to remove it, fearing screwing something up. Now, AVAST has stripped all my saved passwords from FIREFOX. Can I load these back into Firefox from my renegade AVAST?

I've got Mozilla-Plugins like LastPass and NordVpn, where I can enter my username or my email account at first, but each time I try to switch to the next box , where I should be able to enter my Password, either by cursor or tab the Plugin window closes instantly.

I have already tried it with every other plugin disabled to pinpoint if it's maybe a problem another plugin causes, but that's not it.

OS: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, but I had the same problem on Ubuntu 17.04 LTS

So every idea is appreciated!

I am considering switching from chrome to firefox. While trying to import my passwords i wont get them all.

Using the import feature inside Firefox I will get about 70% of my usernames and passwords from chrome.

Why it wont import the rest makes absolutely no sense at all.

Firefox gives no option to import from a CSV or anything else but that one button.

I get the impression the whole feature is not tested properly, If Firefox wants people to switch browser this just has to work flawlessly.

Hi. I’ve been using Firefox for like 20 years and for some reason this time on my new iPhone it wants me to authenticate using my app Authy. Because they do not have a direct link to a Firefox icon etc.… I created a new miscellaneous one as pertheir options and named it Firefox. However when it asked me to use the Authy to finalize the setup after putting in the correct password it never works. It states something like incorrect authentication code. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

I thought this might be a Windows issue, but it appears more likely to be a Firefox problem...... Almost every time Firefox updates itself on one of my several PCs (a Dell), all of my saved logins are removed.

After some checking, I found that the actual logins file had been changed from "logins.json" to "logins.json.corrupt".

Why Firefox is doing this is anybodies guess, but it may have something to do with the actual passwords themselves containing characters that it doesn't like.......

Easy resolution - find the "corrupt" file and rename it!

Using Windows Explorer, you will need to make hidden files visible, then go to (User)>Appdata>Roaming>Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>(71r822oe.*********), then scrol down to "logins.json.corrupt" - select, rename, "logins.json", agree to the change warning, and exit. All now works as before.

(The bits in brackets will be your own name and registry entry)

Please, Mozilla - can you try and stop this happening in the first place ?
