I have a user whose Firefox has stopped working. It will start up, but nothing ever is displayed in the window. The address bar and buttons are all there, but nothing from a web site, just a white page. If I enter a url, or click on a bookmark the refresh button never changed to an 'X', but I can see traffic from her machine going across our firewall. Try to go into setup and it's the same thing. About:config displays nothing. It's all just a blank page. Other browsers seem to work fine.

I've tried refreshing, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but it didn't fix it. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm a little surprised they've taken away the option of choice when it comes to downloading files. But what's most annoying, is the manager opens u and drops down blocking my view of the page, much less that it makes ms stop and think about what I am about to download.

I do not understand the purpose of this. The old way was safer, cleaner and less annoying. How can, or am I able to get that "choice" back?

When searching for a fix I have seen that that there is/was a similar feature in the Edge browser but it can be undone. I feel Firefox users deserve that option.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Hi all. Did a search but found nothing that helped. Just updated my Fedora 36 workstation and tried to play videos in CNN and MSNBC web sites and get the error message: "Code: 4 | Message: Something went wrong during native playback." I am using the latest Firefox WEB browser. UTube videos are playing fine. Someone has stated on the Fedora forum that they have the same problem but has no problem in Chrome on the same machine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Bob BTW, this happened in two machines running Fedora 36 and Firefox 101.0.

Sorry for asking a question so many others have asked but I am having trouble completing fixes that were suggested.

I do project research with over 25+ websites and can't do without my p/words especially, but also my bookmarks. I just reset my PC Win 10 and as you know this operation cleans out everything but OEM apps.

So, I downloaded latest ver. FF but my passwords and bookmarks aren't there which I actually anticipated.

I read many posts and replie s on how to restore from old Firefox date filesbut I just don't get it (about:support, Help > troubleshooting information). I located my old FF profile easily. OK fine, now what? Instructions said to copy profile but to where? And how, exactly? Do I paste it somewhere?

Another "Reply" said to locate "Local Directory, no root", then click Paste and restart Firefox. Where is Local Directory? Is there a FF restart button?

Frustrated.

Thanks.

Have just been given the security warning for a site www.solar-thailand. On using the advanced button I am told that " Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for www.solar-thailand.com." and that the certificate is only valid for (list of sites): "The certificate is only valid for the following names: sim456.com, www.sim456.com, dodeetoday.com, home-dd.com, solar-thailand.com, service-thailand.com, dcspump.com, cable-thailand.com, led-thailand.com, tp-scg.com, 3d-thailand.com". Am I going mad or does the site actually exist in the list??? If someone could please explain this I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance, Peter.

I've attached a screenshot that shows that 176 comments are below that video but none load. I'm using the latest Firefox version on Windows 7.

If you need any extra information I will gladly provide it.

In the last few weeks Firefox will not open even when using admin rights. NOTE: I have followed all available posts including multiple uninstalls (complete), deleting Firefox folders, reinstalling, etc. There have been no major (or known) changes to my Windows 10 Pro system. I run Heimdal Thor and Kaspersky antivirus protection and there have been no conflicts running both at any time. I also use Acronis Protection (I know it may seem like overkill but it works). I have turned off each of the above and Firefox still does not open. Firefox runs with no problems on my personal and work laptops. I am CompTia A+ Certified so somewhat knowledgeable (a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!) and have run sfc /scannow with no issues noted. Plus, two Heimdal support reps have logged onto my system, attempted to find a solution, found no issues with my system (Omen 880 even though I don't game). My wife is a dedicated Firefox user and wants it back.

Using Mac OS 12.4 and Firefox 101.0.1. After launching Firefox, a second icon appears in the "recently used" apps section of the Mac OS dock (see attached screen shot). The icon stays there and goes away, and then comes back, and then goes away, etc. This continues on and on until Firefox is closed.

Why is this happening? Never acted this way before the latest updates.

I have tried all of the suggested solutions here at Mozilla for how to delete a website URL from being autofilled: whenever I type 'pre', the autofill function fills in the rest of the website 'www.preply.com'. It was a horrible ESL teaching scam website, I only taught through it for a month last November then quit when they ripped me off. But now since last November, any time I type in 'pre'–I invariably see their annoying, shitty website :-( It is very annoying because it was a bad employer experience–and now I cannot ever remove them from Firefox :-(

I tried deleting it in the address bar with shift + delete, then also went into some obscure Firefox folder and deleted some file with Firefox closed (this was the supposed "solution"–it did NOT work).

Is there any way to solve this incredibly annoying issue? Or should I just switch to Chrome or Safari and give up? Very disappointed in how impossible Firefox makes deleting autofill URLS, really, REALLY BAD software programming. Any helpful or solution greatly appreciated thx :-)

Audio was working fine until recently. Now, firefox has no audio playing on any site.

Some sites show "PLAYING" in tab, but others like YouTube don't show that notification. Even with "PLAYING", there is no audio output.

I checked Windows settings and Firefox is set up correct (and the same as it was before it stopped working), see screenshot attached. Otherwise, I restarted Firefox, tried it in troubleshoot mode, and reinstalled Firefox. No changes.

Possible system changes include: Maybe a Firefox update occured and broke the program? I installed the game Civ5 from Steam which required some Windows VS redistributibles installed.

I've just had my browsing interrupted with this recommendation to install an extension: https://torrent-protection.com/download-now/

I was viewing this page: https://www.eurogamer.net/with-the-new-ps-plus-premium-and-extra-sony-opts-for-the-car-boot-sale-approach-to-catalogue-gaming

I was taken out of the page without pressing anything and taken to this recommendation. In particular, it appears like an official Firefox message and security recommendation, with Firefox suggesting I should install this extension for my security. Sadly I don't have a screenshot but it's happened twice this morning already.

Is this really Firefox endorsed? Or are they pushing their extension with fake credentials? How is the page viewing interrupted this way and diverted automatically to another webpage?
