There are news reports that Microsoft has implement a patch that interferes with use of FireFox. I don't want to install any Microsoft Windows 10 updates that implements this annoying nonsense. Is Monzilla going to provide a patch to disable this JUNKWARE! I'm trying to avoid installing any MS Patch that implement this junk... Does anyone know the patch number where they implement this annoyance?

Reference: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1174885 The final answer was 'roaming' which was all that ragnajoe and myself wanted to know. The other articles about profiles, backups, recovery, '2017-10-13-12-36-19-82d39f.png',etc., ASSUMEs everyone has the same knowledge background. The problem could have been answered by referring us to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox.

Starting with a new profile.

If I change the default search engine and restart Firefox, I’ll be using my engine of choice. If I setup the html autoexport and restart Firefox once, same. If I restart a second time, it’s Google.

I use autoexport for backup so I’ll consider using the other documented method to do so, but still, weird thing.

I'm trying to use CSS to change the icon and name that is displayed on Firefox's "Add-ons" tab (I'm using pre-Quantum Firefox - ESR v52.9).

I can't seem to find a way to only affect the Add-ons tab's icon because that tab doesn't have a unique ID, and so any changes that I make inadvertently affects the icons of all tabs, not just the Add-on tab.

I have been able to isolate the TEXT for the Add-ons tab by using .tabbrowser-tab [value="Add-ons Manager"] but I'm not sure of the "after" syntax to use to replace the default tab name with a different name.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi All

I have an issue with a Mac that I just downloaded firefox on, and for most of the websites I go to, it gives me an error message: sec_error_unknown_issuer

It's occurring on Google as well

I can load websites that have http:// instead of https://

the mac has malwarebytes on it, and is causing no issues (i turned off the protection for it and i was still getting the same errors)

I've tested it out on a PC on the same network and that's not had any issues so I know that's not the problem

This is what I get on www.google.com and www.tumblr.com

I want to thank you for your support of the little guy for all of this time. I used Firefox exclusively right up til the minute I found I have to upgrade my OS in order to use your browsers. I am running an older mac because that is all I can afford. It will not upgrade to any of your products, so unless you would like to purchase a brand new iMac for to use in my dog sitting business, (my only means of income) this looks like the end of a long and lovely relationship. I was wondering if there way a way to override Firefox's default JS memory limit per tab? Right now, upon reaching about 4-5GB of memory usage, my JS console window reports an our of memory error and dumps my code. I appreciate that this is pretty normal behavior, as 4GB of memory is fairly outlandish for a website. However, for the use case of VR, particularly in physics engine development, it can feel a bit restrictive and even silly when I have 32GB sitting idle - and I could readily double that to 64. However, I know Firefox has a rather extensive about:config section - and I was wondering if anyone knew if one of these variables allowed us to override the internal limits of the browsers memory limitations?

I'm new to using a computer and trying to understand all Mozilla can do. I want to protect myself from hackers and don't want to lose my photos or financials. I was told I could be online and switch to being offline (just working with files not exposed to the internet).

I also have Windows Explorer, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer I'm trying to find my way around...was told Mozilla Firefox would be a good default...and not sure what that means either.

Any guidance will be appreciated. Thank you.

Governments and their agencies are in no hurry to update their websites and web applications. 52 esr is the only one version of your browser that works with such "hurdles". To suggest the transition in IE and Edge is not necessary, they are not working with some sites. Where they can be used - and we do. The situation is very unpleasant we have to use 4 different browsers for different tasks and your demarche deprives us of one of the most important. To expect governments best response to changes of the surrounding world is naive. Please ask users to update or not their version of firefox. Thanks. Yet we must smash 60 esr and reinstall 52 esr daily.
