Beginning with Firefox 40, if I:

Firefox becomes almost completely unresponsive.
E10s is enabled, but I get the same results in a "New non-e10s" window, or by starting with a new clean profile.
I have tried with Firefox 39 and it works fine. Can anyone else confirm the problem?

I'm having to get to Mozilla support through Chrome right now because I can't do anything with Mozilla.

I am using Nightly 44.0a1 x64 because stable version Firefox has serious performance problems, like it takes long time to open a new tab, browser becomes non responsive on video and animation pages, uses lots of memory, etc.
I installed Java v8 u65 x64 on my computer but Nightly is not detecting it.
http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp says Java is disabled or not installed

When Mozilla support sends a reply to my Hotmail account it contains two links. One is "This doesn't solve my problem" the other is "browse for unsolved questions and help a Firefox User". In the Nightly browser, if I click on either of these the browser freezes. No other tab can be opened; the back arrow cannot be used; the refresh symbol does not work; and Nightly can only be closed from the Task manager. Worse, if it is left open it disables other applications. While the task manager is open, if it is moved, it leaves a trail of repeated copies of itself. If Quicken is closed part of the display remains on the screen. Even using CTL+ALT+DEL to refresh the screen and asking only to open the task manager does not resolve this problem. Am I REALLY part of a Beta test or did you all just skip Alpha and give us anything that looked like it could be called a browser?

I updated to the latest nightly (15 or 14 June). For the last couple of days at least, in my two different Outlook Web Access email accounts, I have been unable to copy text when I am reading an email.
I searched on bugzilla and didn't see anything. Is this a known issue that has already been filed? I'd rather not waste anyone's time. I don't mind filing bugs if there isn't one yet. I searched for "can't copy text nightly email," and "outlook web access." the first gave me no results; the second set of terms gave me none that had anything to do with my problem.
FWIW, I'm posting this from FDE, from which I can copy text in OWA.

Hello, when i run nightly 51 without add-ons, all works fine, the startup time is good. But when I add for instance "Fireftp", "ublock origin" and "gtranslate" (compatibles with e10s), nightly starts on a blank page, I must wait a few seconds and then about:home appears. Is it a kind of bug? Because when e10s is disabled, there is no blank page and waiting time.

I've been trying to set up openvr on firefox nightly. chromium and sketchfab work just fine, tracking is smoothly and I can see the preview on my monitor as well as on my headset. In firefox, I only see a grey and white checkerboard on my monitor and the video on my headset is very jerky - as if there is a tracking problem. I've tried the official mozilla VR tests and they work just fine. I've set the flags in about:config and set the path for the openvr dll. I even refreshed my settings. It'd be nice to use firefox since the chromium build is not really a full web browser, it's missing a bunch of APIs and doesn't play a lot of video content. What can I do to improve this? I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I've recently been dealing with something weird with regard to the update feature in Nightly.
Yesterday, I decided to check for an update on Nightly, and it started downloading. Once finished, I was prompted to restart to let the update take affect.
After waiting for a minute, I noticed nothing opening up again. I opened up Task Manager (I'm on Windows 10 Pro) and saw that both Nightly and the Nightly update service were both in the Backgrounds Processes section.
After a bit of waiting, the update process vanished, but Nightly remained no matter how much time passed.
I had to end up killing/ending the process/task. I did this twice more and it wasn't until the third attempt when I realized I was already running the latest version of nightly. Yet, Nightly, for whatever reason still attempted to receive/install an update.
I'm sure there are already similar questions like this, but I may not have come across them.
It is worth mentioning that I have both Firefox 54.0 Release (32-bit) AND Nightly 56.0a1 release installed on my system.
I'm currently running two profiles: the default is stuck with just Firefox release, and I created a separate profile for nightly.
Annoyingly, Nightly installs and initially runs with the default profile in use. I find this extremely annoying and prone to give errors.
That aside, I followed a guide on the Stack Exchange that addressed how to get Ngihtly to run with a predefined profile.
I edited the shortcut properties (in start menu folder/directory) and added to the Target field a "-p profile_name".
This was done after initial installation and it's been working since then.
All of the sudden, it stopped working. Not sure why.
Clicking on Nightly now only opens the standard/stab;e Firefox application.
What I'm most upset about is that I actually uninstalled Nightly after noticing the weird update inconsistency, and later reinstalled it.
The issue persisted and I'm about to try again.
Why did Nightly think it needed to be updated in the first place?
I can only imagine that some kind of corruption occurred and now it's getting worse.
Another last testament:
I tried refreshing the profile for nightly, and it didn't do anything.
When I uninstalled Nightly the first time, a folder was created in my Desktop which related to an old profile.
Sine I was given no instructions as to what to with that, and noticed no performance conflict when running Nightly after reinstalling, I deleted the folder.
What bug am I suffering from?

Using the latest Nightly version which I update every day. For the last couple of weeks the tabs will crash as soon as I open Nightly unless I am in Safe Mode. That said, I do not have any add-ons or extensions enabled other than the default Mozilla ones. Running the system report, it does list 14 extensions that do show up when I simply use the menu to open the add-ons/extensions page. I am attaching my about:support info. Anyway, I wonder if it is one of these extensions that is causing the problem since being in safe mode prevents the crashes from happening. At first I thought it was a universal problem and if I simply kept updating the program it would fix the problem but since it has persisted this long I am guessing it is something unique to me.... I tried running in safe mode with "firefox -safe-mode", but it still crashes.
I also tried deleting my profile from "%appdata%/firefox/profiles" but that didn't help either.
Any ideas? Is there anyway I can go back one version in Firefox nightly?
