As I was reading http://www.thestar.com/living/technology/article/1269312--new-version-of-firefox-pulled-over-security-flaw my Firefox updated from v 15 to v 16 on my Mac. Should I be downgrading? BTW, I don't understand why it would be upgrading today if FF 16 was removed yesterday.

FF16.0 has been withdrawn because of a serious vulnerability. But, saw this story on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19909106

In it a Mozilla spokesman says "He added that no users had been upgraded automatically to the new version." which is not exactly true.

Anyone who uses Secunia PSI 2.0 (and maybe 3.0) is STILL being automatically upgraded to version 16.0

The default setting in Secunia PSI is for it to be updated automatically, so people are being given the faulty version as Secunia do not yet have the repaired and tested newer version. (Has that been released yet?)

Ubuntu users were also given the updated faulty version but I don't know of any way to roll back to v15.0.1 in Ubuntu 12,04

Firefox has stopped opening links from a search when I click on them. I get a new tab with "about:blank" in the address bar. I think this problem just started today, after a lot of Windows Updates this morning, Chrome isn't having a problem. Is anyone else having this problem with Firefox and have any idea which windows update is causing the problem?

On the Start Page screen (16.0.1) you now show icons at the bottom of the page (Downloads, Bookmarks, History, Add-ONs, Sync, Settings) which are a duplicate of the various buttons at the top of the screen. Is there a way to remove these icons? These appear on my Windows 7 and Vista computers.

Im using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit running with Mozilla FIrefox 16.0.1

The address bar used to show a line between search / auto-complete results. Now the line is gone and it's very hard to see the grouping of description and URL and find what I'm looking for, they all blend together. I want the line back! I really wish FF wouldn't make these changes - make them available as an option, not forced.

Whenever I open Firefox without Safe Mode, it will function for a few seconds, and then stop responding. (NOTE: It does not say "not responding" anywhere; it just appears nonresponsive.) Whenever a piece of the UI needs to change, (e.g., hovering over a button, typing in a search box, LOADING A WEBPAGE...) the entire area turns black. This includes EVERYTHING within the window's boundary: Title bar, tab thumbnails, the ENTIRE FRAME THAT WEB PAGES LOAD IN; all of it.

Safe Mode is currently the only fix for it, (I haven't Reset it yet;) disabling ALL the addons (including themes) didn't help.

My Windows 7 automatically updated recently and so did Firefox. Now, with all other Windows applications including Internet Explorer, I can open a new window by right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar (showing there because the application is open), and when I right click, it gives me the option to close all windows. With Firefox, this also used to be the case, but since the update, when I right -click on the open Firefox in the taskbar, nothing happens. And when I tried to "pin" Firefox to the taskbar, even then, I cannot close all open windows just by right-clicking, and it is a longer procedure to open a new Firefox window. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated....
