Hi Team,

I have been using firefox for 2 years now at work, logged in to sync the passwords and bookmarks. To my knowledge it seemed to be working fine.

I reimaged my laptop last week and reinstalled firefox and logged into my account and it did not download any of my saved bookmarks and saved passwords.

I suspect it may have been caused by a partially failed initial install of Firefox which may have wiped the data from the account.

Does mozilla keep backups of the profile data? If they do, could my account be restored to the state it was in on Thursday 28 March 2024?

Hello all,

We are a medium-sized company and are looking for a viable solution for sharing bookmarks between devices. Does anyone know what the maximum number of devices whose bookmarks can be synchronized with Fireofx is?

Some say five, but I cannot find an authoritative answer to this. Also, if that is true, is there some kind of bussiness solution for this kind of demand?

I am just wondering can you help me with my problem. I am currently doing a ICDL Essentials course with E-College and I am having a problem with ICDL connect as part of the course. It's something about a PSI In-application plugin if you know what I mean by that ??? it won't accept this plugin for some reason, can you help me with this problem please thanks.

Lately, when I try to download different files like .docx, .pptx, etc., Firefox always downloads files with a .pdf extension. I tried it in a different browser, and the problem does not occur there. Of course, the files are the same in binary terms, so when I change the extension, everything is fine, but it is annoying. What is wrong?

Firefox version 124.0.2-1 latest/stable OS: Ubuntu 23.10 Kernel: Linux 6.5.0-26-generic

Since the latest update 124.0.2 when I close firefox out and when I reload later it will not load my home page and does not have any of my settings saved. It shows that I am logged out of firefox. I have checked all of my settings but every time I close firefox it will not open to my set homepage and my settings.

TL;DR: Make sure you're on the latest... turn Sync off on the computer that isn't showing the remote tabs, then turn Sync back on.

Details:

Three computers (Windows), a phone, and a tablet. Firefox 124.0.1.

Sync is enabled and generally seems to be working fine. But I just noticed, on one computer, that when I went to Firefox View, and clicked on "Tabs from Other Devices", that it was showing nothing, other than the, "Log into your Firefox Profile", which I was already logged in... so that was messed up.

Did a number of things, like checking the other computer, manually syncing from the other computer, coming back to this one, and telling it to manually sync. It also seemed to be stuck in syncing (a grayed button that said "Syncing...")

I looked, and there was an update available to 124.0.2, so I used this opportunity to upgrade.

When I came back in, I still didn't have the remote tabs showing up, so I turned off "Sync" entirely, but didn't log out of my Firefox account, and then turned it back on.

Now I'm seeing the remote tabs.

That's how I fixed it. I hope it helps. I see others having Sync problems, and getting terrible suggestions that are not helpful. In this case it's the simple thing that fixed it for me. Turn it off and turn it on again. If that doesn't work, unplug the computer from the wall and plug it into another outlet.  ;-) ( That's a joke for those of you with a sense of humor. )

I had to reset my computer and lost the bookmarks there. When I reinstalled Fifefox I had to reset my password and lost my bookmarks associated with that email address. HOWEVER, I have firefox installed on my mobile phone with all bookmarks intact. Is there a way to get the bookmarks from my mobile to the laptop?

Actually my problem was solved. It came from the fact that following a maintenance intervention on the servers of the https site where my account was located, and access to which was blocked by Mozilla, the automatic updating of certificates had not worked. Which the site technicians resolved following a request I sent to them.

I am trying to use OBS Virtual camera, I am resetting permissions of camera access, removing cache and data to be sure, and selecting it but it still doesn't let me use OBS Virtual Cam and selects Built in cam automatically does anyone has any solutions ?

when I enter for first time I can select and i select OBS Virtual Cam and I click on Allow and then next window pops up and it doesnt let me select anything else...

Why has my firefox browser failed to connect with my banking website?

Hello, I recently created a new sync account for work so I wouldn't have to use my personal sync account. I noticed after creating the new sync account it still retained my passwords from my personal account. Is it safe for me to delete all my personal passwords on the work account or will it also delete those passwords on my personal?

Since yesterday, occassionally while using Facebook or Messenger, the tab crashes. Earlier today on the Messenger side, after reopening the Messenger tab after it crashes, it crashed again. It doesn't occur on other websites and the app doesn't crash, only the tab.

Using Firefox on "troubleshoot mode" doesn't have an issue when accessing when I visit those for a few minutes and with only one or two tabs open, and I'm afraid of visiting these sites for a while because it may crash again. Occurs on both Windows and Mac.

Crashed signature leads to: "js::gc::AllocSite::incTenuredCount", and I have no idea what does it mean. For my Mac the reason for the crash is "EXC_BAD_ACCESS / KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE", while for Windows, reason is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ".

I will add additional crash IDs from my Windows. Idk what is the problem currently, is it with the add-ons installed, Facebook, or Firefox itself? The RAM is fine.

When ever I go into about:profiles, I want to open up one of the root directories, but the button leads to the windows file instead. How do I open the root directory?
