Whenever I am ready to type out my password for my Gmail account using Private on Private window, Firefox asks me to update. Is is legitimate, or Goole is doing something?

1) I Have Win 10 64 bit laptop. Is Firefox 124 a 32-bit or a 64 bit application? How would I know?

2) Will a 64-bit Java Runtime Environment be compatible with FF 124 - if FF is 32-bit ?

Conversely 3) Will a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment be compatible with FF 124 - if FF is 32-bit ?

You can ignore the rest of my questions if you have no time for this.

Hint: Seeing as most software search functions are highly inadequate, I can only expect that AI will slow the workings of all software-operated system to a crawl or to a screeching halt. I see such an obvious lack of willingness to make software work for most people, instead of for the few geniuses who think everything goes without saying, that I have no confidence in software people anymore.

Software was once a promise, 40 or 50 years ago. Now it more and more becomes a promise unfulfilled. And nobody wants to do anything about it. It's not even recognized as a problem. Sadly, this happens in Community operated software like Mozilla just like in the big for profit Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc enterprises. I am trying to be as kind as possible in this.

Extra credit: 4) Why does the search term "Version" produce zero result in Firefox "Settings"? Seems like a very, very common term.

5) I am pretty sure that "Sharing Trouble-shooting Information" will not help you with answering my questions. How much do you want to bet on that?

6) Why can't search software answer a question with another question, asking intelligently for more detail

in order to decipher what the initial question might require to be answerable?

This sh*t is getting beyond ridiculous. I've used Firefox for years and not had any problems so the last time this happened I thought well maybe it's just a fluke. IT JUST FU*KING HAPPENED AGAIN! I've slowly been migrating to and using Chrome lately and I think I'm finally ready to make the switch. FIREFOX FU*KING SUCKS.

Help me get my right panel, that dissapeard back to right side where it belongs. It Disappeared!!!!!!!!!!!! My screen is filled them links!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 77 years old and have liked and used firefox for as far back as I can remember. I've read many posts that have said they have the same problem!!!!!!!! I really like Firefox and don't want to switch to another browser, but looks like me and many other dissatisfied customers to do also.

I am experiencing several crashes a day on firefox and I am providing an example of EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ on just one of them. Any one know what this means?

Hi, I seem to be increasingly having problems logging into some sites. Mostly it seems to be football sites - https://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/afl?destination=%2Fafl%2Fclassic&apiIdentifier=afl_classic and https://www.fanfooty.com.au/. Both are working fine in Chrome with the same username and password. Recently I couldn't log into my AGL electricity account, then suddenly, it came good on it's own. I have cleared the cookies but that didn't help. Cheers, Ian.

Almost every week I get Firefox "browser.startup.couldRestoreSession.count" set to "2" (Firefox keeps restoring tabs and windows an indefinite number of times after a crash in this case). I reset it to default, and then the situation repeats.

It has been so for at least a year.

Please let me know if there is a program or Firefox extension responsible for this annoying behavior.

searching from URL address bar no longer works. Opens search page (start page) instead of results, adding a (unnecessary) step to searching and causing me to have to re-enter my search term. the 2024 trend across the tech industry seems to add unnecessary steps for previously single-step convenient/efficient processes.

I'm desperate for some help here. I'm a long time customer of Mozilla, and have used Firefox for many many year. Recently, my hard drive was erased, I lost all my data, and I've got a new computer that I'm setting up I'm trying to sign into my Firefox but I don't have the password. I go through Password reset options, and it send a code to my email ([edited] @mindspring.com) and the spam filter is filtering out the email, so I cannot see it. I'm stuck in a loop! I cannot get the passcode and cannot sign into my account. I just need to chat with someone to help me. Please call my call when available.

Since at least one update, and maybe two, I have been having the following experience:

For context: I do remote work via Zoom and Teams. I am using an iMac running Sonoma 14.1. I use a magic keyboard and magic mouse. I bought the computer in March of 2023.

1. Open Firefox and use it for a while. All is well.

2. Out of nowhere, with no sequence or pattern I have been able to discern so far, Firefox stops responding to left button mouse clicks. Right ones still work.

3. Quit Firefox and re-open.

4. It responds to left button clicks again.

I don't usually have to do this more than once per day, although I had had days during which I had to do it two or three times.

This does not occur in Safari or Chrome.

I can't delete and replace Roaming>Mozilla>Firefox folder with a backup copy in Windows 11-- I get an other-program-using error.

I have done this many times before in Windows 10 and it always works beautifully. In Windows 11, however, I get an error about another program using a file in the folder. If I try to delete the folder I get a message about needing permissions from user (for clarity, the user account is an administrator). Now I am also very familiar with Windows permissions. I checked and administrators already have full privileges on the folder. Even if I explicitly add my particular user, nothing changes. I have done some other sleuthing but nothing helps identify the problem.

A bit of context – I just bought a new Dell, rather high-end and expensive laptop so I am really not amused at the fact that I can't just port in all of the stuff in the Firefox folder so I don't have to lose everything related to Firefox from my previous laptop. I do nightly Acronis backups so I have the folder and files but somehow Windows 11 is not letting me do my usual substitute backup copy of Firefox folder for new fresh-install Firefox folder.

Please — help — I had hoped that I could use the Acronis Universal Restore feature to move everything over from my old system to my new hardware — I've done that before. Unfortunately that wasn't an option given that the new machine comes with Windows 11.

I see other people have been having problems related to this folder with Windows 11 but I don't see any solution — again, please help!

Despite many attempts at fixing including reinstalling FF, highlighting various drop downs in the history menu like the "everything section", every two hours etc. Nothing seems to work and I end up deleting the history one by one. Thank you
