I use to click on PDF files and they would open and not download to my download folder. Well now every time i click on a PDF file it downloads it. I have tried every option in settings/general/apps and they still download in a folder. So I thought I would try MS edge and it does the same thing. Is it not the browser and was it in a MS update? It has never done this before. I don't want all these PDF files downloaded!

I have two identical computers running Firefox on Windows 7. No serious issues for 3 years or longer.

Just recently, version 100 showed "Unknown Source" instead of the normal UAC authorization window which lists mozilla.org as the source.

The 100.0.1 update showed the same warning.

This only occurred on one of the computers. The other one does not show the warning.

Firefox worked fine after doing the downloads anyway, but the "Unknown Source" is not right and makes the user think security is being compromised.

  Is there anyway to stop firefox downloading files entirely?  Or at the very least, stop it auto downloading or prompting to save download settings ?

I am looking for suggestions/work flows for migrating existing Mac's from the standard firefox release to the ESR version. I am looking to manage these all under 1 update cycle. A couple of current problems:

1. On a system with the standard version already installed, I can't find a way to upgrade to the ESR version without uninstalling first.
2. Once I would do an uninstall and then an install of the new version, I am prompted that I have launched an older version of Firefox and that I must create a new profile. How can I do this without loosing all users bookmarks, extensions, etc?

Firefox used to give the option to open a file without saving. Now it saves everything to my downloads folder with no option to just open. (I am aware Firefox used to save the opened files in temp). This causes major clutter in my downloads folder and big disruptions to my work flow. Sometimes I just want to view the file and not save it to my working folder (downloads).

Is there a workaround to save to opened files in temp and the saved files to download?

Does Firefox give 2 different "save to" options? One option for a location to save downloaded files and one option for a location to save opened files?

I have an older Macbook Air that runs on OX Capitan which is not compatible with the latest version of Firefox. I have been a long time user of Firefox and have an account. Please send me a link and instructions on how to download a version that will work on my device. Thank you in advance for your help. Venetia

Please turn off the download drop down menu that appears every time I do a download...if you cant do that then give your users the option of turning it off or on...

How do I download an excel spreadsheet without having to save it? Is this a "new feature" or a bug. I was able to do it previously but now it makes me save all excel spreadsheets before I can open them.

Please assist Nearly most sites I visit,a DOWNLOAD appears & if I open it,Firefox tells me that it is not associated with any of it files & it is isallmytube protocols If I search for isallmytube,it tells me it is associated with WONDERSHARE 7 I do not have that program on my computer It is very annoying Can you please advise me how I can get rid of it thanks Darryl

I am disappointed with the background change with updates. The last time I updated Firefox, I had to do a system recovery to revert back. Then another person expressed concerns with a new version taking control over updating. Why don't you have updates that give you options to choose the background color and who decides if and when you update? I will not update Firefox under these conditions. And I don't want to spend half a day trying to change my background back to white, and especially if would have to do that with every update. Like I have to change my printing options when I do updates! I have been so happy with Firefox for the last 20 yrs. or so, until all of this. Please make this more user friendly and optional.

Tried to dl for my iMac "El Capitan" version 10.11.6 a dozen times but no go. Any chance of me getting the old version for my antique? I sent a screen shot below. Thanking you in advance, Ed
