I tried restore under managing bookmarks, but it only give me about a week or two's dates as choices. I went back and it is still gone. I looked for an Old Firefox Data file on my desktop (or anywhere on my computer) and did not find that either. If I can't choose to add something to a category or to the tool bar, the bookmark function is not really helpful to me.

Hello. Firstly I have NO troubles accessing the internet via Firefox (my Default browser). My problem is that none of my "saved" websites (including those appearing on the Bookmarks Toolbar) will open on the internet when I click on them. If I type the internet address into the address bar, the site opens as normal. I do not have this problem if I use Chrome. The problem only commenced today following an update by Norton via Norton 360. I have attempted all the suggestions that Norton have supplied other than re-installing Firefox - and none of their suggestions have solved my predicament. Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated to fix this most annoying problem. Thank you, Ron.

Just now will not save a page to bookmark folder, even in trouble shoot mode. Know how to save. See pages in recently closed pages, but do not know what is the cause. Should I refresh, tried close and reboot system. Let me know some steps to analyze the cause and remove it. Thanks, but don't under stand the method to ge Troubleshooting Information.

i even deleted ALL my bookmarks............I cant get rid of the ribbon across the top, no matter how many times i try. And now I see, the bookmarks live on even after I deleted all of them yesterday.

I cannot get Bookmarks to sort. If I got to Manage My Bookmarks I can sort by name but when I select Bookmarks from the top menu and scroll to a folder my sort is gone. How do I fix this? This is true of all folders I have.

Since updating to Firefox 144, access to bookmarks on my PC running Windows 11 25H2 has been restricted: - Sometimes no bookmarks are displayed at all. Instead, a message appears stating that access to bookmarks is restricted, for example, by a virus scanner. The problem persists even after restarting the computer. - Sometimes the bookmarks are displayed again, but I can neither delete bookmarks nor create new ones.

Disabling the virus scanner (Avira) and other security programs does not solve the problem either. The problem also occurs in Windows Safe Mode.

How can I use the bookmarks normally again?

Laptop running Windows 10 pro. Firefox 144. Is there a method for sorting firefox bookmarks into alphabetical order (yet)? I see from questions asked years ago that Firefox hasn't had a way to sort all bookmarks into alphabetical order in one go. Is this still the case? It seems hard to believe that the only way to do this is to sort each folder individually. I noticed that I can do this (and have done) on Android, but not on the laptop.

I received a virus message alert that popped up on my screen. I then hit control alt delete and shut down Firefox, when I reopening it, my bookmarks were gone and not even able to add new bookmarks. An error message stating something like, another program is using the file keeps appearing. I'm able to log into a different computer and my bookmarks are there.

After re-installing Firefox, my Bookmarks are gone. I could reinstall them as I go along, but my Folders (used to organize) are also gone. Worse: I cannot seem to figure out how to re-create folders or move those Bookmarks I have. Any suggestions.

I need to be able to place bookmarks in bookmark tool bar. this is what it say: For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. I tried with Yohoo news it wouldn't stay.

1) How do we change the default location for bookmark saving (without having to go into about:config, which we should only want to do for very out there things. Of which choosing default location for add bookmark is not that) 2) How do we make it not only 3 folders when location is clicked (why can't I scroll through all my bookmark folders and click the correct one without having to click choose first. This is a waste of click. Or at least give us the option to start in the choose... UI)

Hello, Firefox updated and my bookmarks are nowhere to be found. I turned on the show bookmarks and there is nothing there. I had so many and really rely on the easy access. There is no older version on my laptop. Are they gone forever. I really love firefox but am disappointed that this happened. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to retrieve my bookmarks. Up to several months ago when I tried to bookmark a website or YouTube video I had previously bookmarked a dialog box would come up asking if I still wanted to bookmark the website or YouTube video. What ever happened to that feature. I really liked it. Or is it a case changing some kind of setting to turn it back on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My bookmarks have duplicated and I didn't do anything except try to sync with my laptop and desktop. I tried the only solution I could find, the "verify integrity - Places Database" and that did nothing. If this can't be fixed, it's time to move on to another browser.
