I have latest Windows 10 and Firefox 80.0. A few days ago most videos, but not all, stopped working after 2 or 3 seconds and I got a black screen with "Sorry, we're having trouble playing this video". I opened Facebook in Edge browser and all videos work just fine.

Did the latest Firefox update "break" something?

My Firefox became infected with the Blue Screen freeze, I think through a photo icon I clicked on as a link. After trying to figure out what to do, searching for help via my phone, I finally powered off the machine, then restarted it in safe mode. That worked and I'm using it right now.

I want to do two things: (1) know for sure that the infection is out of my system and (2) open the Firefox I'm using, now beyond safe mode.

Is there still an infected Firefox file on my computer? If so, how can I remove it? Do I do that by restarting it without keying safe mode, or is there a specific process for killing the bug? How do I know when I can open without safe mode safely, without triggering the infection?

This usually happens when I'm using Jupyter notebook in a browser. It will stop responding and I cannot save work, and trying to load other websites results in a blank screen. It doesn't say its loading and there is no error message. Usually restarting the browser will fix this, but then I lose work in Jupyter notebook. The other day restarting Firefox did not solve the issue and I had to restart my computer.

When browsing through different websites the graphics completely crash out on me, and only get to normal when I switch to another tab and go back to the one that was distorted. I've attached a screen shot so people can see what I'm talking about. Also, I'm using mac high sierra (I can't update beyond that because my macbook air is old) and the most updated version of firefox. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I use Firefox as my main browser, and I am minoring in the Russian language. One of our staple websites is OpenRussian.org, a dictionary website. This is the only website that causes Firefox's window to turn black with white lines along my screen's border after I try to look up a word on the website. I can hover over the Firefox icon to see my open tabs, and even hover over the open tabs top make them appear on the larger window, but as soon as I try to click to keep that tab open, it goes back to the black screen. I'm linking a video on Imgur of what's happening. I have put Firefox on SafeMode, and it still crashes. When I try to right-click "exit and close tabs" the window to confirm pops up. The header "Exit and close tabs?" shows up but the rest of the pop-up is black. I can't click the button to confirm, and have to use task manager to end the task.

Hi, One default Brother printer, one other Brother printer connected just once and a HP printer. Word under Win10 shows all three printers, but Firefox only shows the HP printer. This means I can no longer directly print any emails coming in from Hotmail (Outlook), but have to copy/paste each email into Word for printing as I do not want to print on the colour HP.

Solution found: "Refresh" after "Menu" and "Trouble Shooting" in Mozilla does the trick, but works only once unfortunately. Help!

I had to re-install Windows 10. I re-installed Firefox Web Browser and installed the Honey Extension. I cannot activate the Honey icon and I cannot access any Honey websites. The Honey button is grayed out and webpages come up blank when I try to access them and sign on. Any ideas as to what the problem is and how to remedy it?

I have downloaded data from accounts into Excel spreadsheets many times. However, my most recent attempt ended up with pages of programming language rather than the actual data. Spent an HOUR on phone with Bank of America only to be told its a Firefox issue -- their "proof" of this is that I can successfully download using another browser (MS Edge in this case). IF this is a Firefox issue -- it's not clear if it's universal (i.e. any Excel file from anywhere -- or specific to banking, BofA, geography, etc.)

I am willing to send the actual downloaded file to someone at FIREFOX -- I am NOT willing to post it on an open forum.

SMALL RANT: IF this is really a Firefox issue, I don't even know where to start -- as I can't possibly know if it's a programming issue with the new version, or some interface issuen with Bank of America or what. I am SO TIRED of having to "fight" to get ANYTHING to work these days -- everyone has firewalls to prevent you from simply talking to a live human being. AI, Voicemail, two way verifications, etc do not solve all problems. Telling me I can "look on your website" is NOT a solution. (I've usually already wasted considerable time doing that). The problem with all corporations is that you do not value MY TIME at anything. LIKE THIS -- why do I have to post on a forum and hope for an answer?

For the last few months, I have been experiencing a login problem with Vendor accounts (each one has a warning about using Firefox as my browser of choice) and the feedback I get from the Vendors is to change browsers. Is this some sort of Firefox payback or what - I am tired of this login problem and having to hold the hands of each Vendor. I don't know if the problem is with Firefox or the Vendors, but I have looked into loading a previous version of Firefox to see if the problem goes away, but can't find the way to load a previous version of Firefox. What to do about this login problem - should I change browsers? I can be reached by email for any suggestions or help!

I recently upgraded a computer (Dell Optiplex 390) to Windows 10 version 2004. I installed the latest version of Firefox Ver 80.0.1. I have no audio coming from the Firefox browser. All of my other browsers (Edge, Chrome) have good audio as well as all my media players (VLC, MS Media Player, etc.). For example when I play a YouTube music video there is no speaker icon in the YouTube tab. I can right click, and click 'Mute Tab' and the speaker icon appears with a slash through it. Firefox shows up in the audio mixer but there is no pulsing volume level bar to indicate a signal like there is on my other browsers and media players when playing audio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice and even downgraded to Firefox version 79 but none of these actions restored Firefox sound. So since all of my other browsers and media programs all have good audio, I don't have a computer hardware problem or else none of them would work. Somehow Firefox is not sending an audio signal to my sound hardware. I saw a suggestion regarding the about:config entry browser.tabs.show.AudioPlayingIcon, but that entry was not present and was not present on my other computers running Firefox. This must be for an older version. Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Iam about ready to give up on Firefox. My computer grinds to a halt after letting firefox idle. I have did al the suggestions to make changes in the services. It seems like the tabs I have open all start to slow down. You can see it in the task manager. Never had this problem before Windows 10 or at some point along the way with 10 it started. I have reloaded and did all the suggestions. But leave it sit and the disk fills up. Also it don't happen with Crome so I doubt it is my computer

Also like right now I have 5 tabs open but you go in task manager it says there are 12 opened?? I cant be the only one that has the problem.

Firefox was updated last night on my laptop. After the install it started for several seconds then shut down. Every time I tried to start it it did the same. I used the troubleshooting page when it eventually did load which recommended clearing the cache and refreshing Firefox. Having done a refresh before I was surprised to see that there was no Old profile folder (or whatever it's called). After this I tried to start Firefox and received the error message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessable. It was now impossible to start Firefox as all I got was the same message. I thought something had gone wrong with the update, or refresh, so decided to uninstall, then reinstall. This did not solve the problem either. I am now stuck without Firefox on my laptop. OS is Windows 10pro version 2004.
