Lately Firefox Storage tab in it's Web Dev tools is not working correctly for me. When there are changes in the localStorage, the data displayed in the tab doesn't update, not even when I refresh the page. For it to work, I have to close Web Dev tools and then reopen it.

I tried using a fresh install of Firefox without addons, tried both Linux and Windows, tried in virtual machine, and still won't work, so I'm guessing it must be due to some recent update.

To reproduce the problem:

- Go to any website
- Open Web Dev Tools (F12)
- Go to Storage tab
- Right click Local Storage file and delete all
- Refresh page to check if Storage updates

Anyone else having the same problem? Glad if anyone can help.

Bug 513418 suggests that private browsing windows are meant to use a dark theme, like Chrome, but this doesn't appear to be the case. Without this it's hard for me to quickly tell the difference between a normal window and a private window.

Is this an intentional change, or is a bug preventing private windows from using a dark theme?

Hello

There is a website that won't go off my URL bar suggestion. I have tried everything I came across searching about this problem : - choosing the entry with the arrows and clicking on the DELETE button (holding SHIFT or not) - removing the website from my history - clicking on "forget this website" in the history - some other things I don't exactly remember

None of this has worked... The website isn't even bookmarked ! When I type "rs" on the search bar, I want rs-online.com and not rs-particuliers.com to appear. You can see the problem is this video : https://youtu.be/Vq5dUpkf534

This is driving me crazy... I use this website (rs-online) every day, and I never use the other one... I want it to get OFF my computer... Sorry if this isn't the right place !! Ask me anything you need to know !

Have a great day

For nearly half a year I've had a very strange issue with a tab that simply vanishes. It's taken a while to notice and then figure out the pattern, and here's how it seems to go...

I launch Firefox, which already has many open tabs; it's set to reopen my previous session. Typically I then open a new tab to check my email, do a DuckDuckGo search, or something else (but the activity/website doesn't seem to matter). Then something in my email or my search will inspire me to open a second new tab. All of a sudden when I do that, the first new tab of the session is gone. So for example if I was checking my email and saw something I wanted to research, I'd open a new tab and all of a sudden the email tab is gone.

At least a few times I've then opened a *third* tab to go back to the website I just lost, and suddenly the vanished tab will reappear, and I'd then have duplicate tabs on the same website.

Much more often the vanished tab does not return until *later.* That is, I eventually close Firefox and eventually reopen it, and suddenly there it is again. I believe, but I'm not certain, that this *always* causes the vanished tab to reappear. It's a pain to rely on this fix, though, especially since it can take something like 20 seconds to reload all those tabs.

I think this strange behavior only happens when I first launch Firefox -- in other words, only once per session. I've never noticed it hapening a second time in the same session. I can freely open new tabs without fear of losing another (at least none that are in the visible part of the tab row).

Anyone else have this issue? Or can you recreate it?

So I live in India and out here there is a c**t of an ISP called BSNL that provides broadband and landline service. When I browse, I tend to open a lot of Firefox tabs via Google, and some of them could be HTTP tabs. Often I could be reading a bunch of tutorials like this one: http://denethor.wlu.ca/ltspice/ which is quite long and involved. Which means that sometimes I shutdown my browser without having finished with this website/tutorial.

When I restart my browser, I hover over the Tab or scroll them to get back to what I was doing and this is where these unmitigated BSNL b@st@rds come into the picture.

They redirect all HTTP requests to https://fuptopup.bsnl.co.in/dailyFupPlanRedirection.do and I lose my Tab! I can firewall that IP by dropping its packets and that slows things down giving me enough time to hit Esc and cancel what's going on.. or what I usually do is log everything to /tmp and then poke around in log to find my URL by grepping for http://

It's still very annoying - what do I do? I would like to murder the person responsible very very slowly or at least roast their cursed toes over hot coals but besides wishful thinking - what do I do?

(they also do other village idiot type things like redirect HTTP to ads and spyware but I've not noticed that recently, after I complained to the Swedish government, about the Swedish server hosting these gross turds)

A Firefox solution would be ideal since this affects security - the random redirecting of HTTP to places unknown by unscrupulous ISPs run by the local village idiot/DSLAM. (please forgive the rude words but I'm hoping that name sticks in peoples minds - BSNL - Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited - may the world, punitively, never hire these rotten scumbags)

I do not know where to post feedback and the feedback link is down so if someone can get this to the Firefox development team, it would be a great help:

1. Feedback is important and to give it a user has to search this website and come here to write it. The help should be in the drop-down menu or menu items where a user can write to development team. This is in Google Chrome. Can be implemented in Firefox. 2. I never understood why title bar and the address bar are separate. They can be merged. The mass horizontal space in title bar is unused forever. Please implement this. 3. The auto-hide/intel-hide of address-bar and title-bar option is not available to the user. Please make it available. This is available for bookmark though and it is working well. 4. If given a chance the user will not want to see the address in the address bar. Most users have utility of copying the address, not much. Can the address be hidden when user do not want to see it? 5. Modern phones have camera not on the top-left edge nowadays, but in top-center. Similarly the tab should open in the center. The minimum development team could do is to provide user with this option that he only can move it to center. Very good improvement this would be. 6. Word-wise feature of Amazon Kindle + Hard-word meaning show on mouse hover features requested. Few extensions available which are not very good in quality and these features should be default. This will save users time to search for new words, will reduce internet traffic. 7. When I save a dark theme in Nightly using customize option. It stays for few seconds and then reverts back to white theme. This could be a bug. Please investigate it. Thanks.

Hi, I use FireFox (edit - 82.0.4 from LM repos) for my browser when using Linux Mint (I use it on WIn10 as well but this query is specific to LM). I use ClamAV for virus scanning. ClamAV has found Js.Coinminer.Generic-7132237-0 in /home/username/.mozilla/firefox/puhh983l.default-release/extensions/adblockultimate@adblockultimate.net.xpi I've searched and found some mention that it might be a false positive but nothing confirming that info so far from my searching. What have I done so far: Done a fresh reinstalled of ClamAV following the ClamAV install procedure. Checked ClamAV is up to date by checking log files and latest available on the ClamAV website. Done a fresh install of FireFox Reinstalled add-ons one by one. ClamAV only finds the Coinminer once Adblock ultimate is installed/added. I'd like to keep Adblock ultimate as it does what I want it to do easily and efficiently but am happy to remove it to avoid the coinminer (if it is a problem and not a false positive) Can you help or have any advice. Thanks

I have a VMware VM used as a desktop by a team and they've reported that Firefox only shows a blank screen. It doesn't respond to anything, if I click the burger and click options then it doesn't even open a new tab. And I can't even access about:config.

However I've discovered that if I access the desktop via the VMware console then FF works perfectly fine, if I RDP onto the desktop and run FF I get the behavior as I've described.

Even weirder...is if I launch the browser in an RDP session and then seize the session via the VMware console then the behavior stays there until I relaunch it.

And vice versa if I launch the browser in the vmware console and then log in via RDP the browser works perfectly fine until I relaunch it!

What could be causing this?!

I've tried: Disabling hardware acceleration Cleanly uninstalling Reinstalling both the latest version and latest ESR Removing my profile All resulted in in the same blank FF.

No other VM running FF is experiencing this issue, and I'm the only one with rights to modify things.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I have set the Downloads preference to "Always ask you where to save files".

When I download a file (I usually download PDF files), Firefox presents the file picker dialog with some directory pre-selected.

I would expect Firefox to pre-select the directory where I saved my most recent file.

However, Firefox often switches between several of my recent directory, seemingly absolutely arbitrarily. It would present the most recent directory e.g. 5 times in a row then suddenly switch to some other directory on its own.

This is EXTREMELY annoying and bad, as it is easy to overlook the changed directory and save the file in an unintended directory. It happened several times to me.

This behavior so destructive and annoying that I would consider it a bug that should get fixed (other browsers do not do this!). However if it is for some strange reason considered to be a feature, how can it turned off and how can Firefox be made to ALWAYS present the most recent download directory?

I'm looking for an extension that I presume exists, but I'm not able to find it: I want to rate websites in the way photo apps allow you to rate your photos, i.e. assign a number of stars to them.

Like https://mozilla.org ★★★★☆

One use case: I'm comparing products where I don't necessarily find something so good that I can come to conclusion now, so I need a way to save it.

Do you know such an extension or have good ideas how to search it?
