Why is Browser and Download History connected? I can't clear my Browswer History w/o Clearing My Download History??? When did this happen?

Despite my repeated going into Options > Privacy and telling it to remember my history, Firefox continues to wipe my browsing history clean every single time I close out of the browser. It seems to remember my cookies and logins just fine, but for some reason it refuses to retain my browsing history - which is annoying, given that having access to it would by and large make browsing the net faster and make sure I remember some things. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

I didn't find how to change the "clock" icon color (white could be ok) in the History sidebar at the left of the "Today, Yesterday, etc". items. I attach a screenshot (it is Firefox in Italian, Cronologia = History). Do you have any suggestion to solve my problem?

Please tell me there is a way to get them all back without having to build it all from scratch. I got here because after the update today, 10/26/18, there was a tab to restore and another tab "See what's new..." I did the restore and everything was right, but I closed it and there was another window open, so when I closed it, it was was what came back. Do I have to save that setup? If so, how. I'm furious that "they" did this to me.

I've been using my own Sync 1.5 server since January without having any issue until this week.
I am unable to sync my clients, getting the "Sync encountered an error while synching: Unknown error, Sync will try again automatically."

The problem seems to happen at line 101 (on pastebin).
Here's some more info about my setup.
Syncserver 1.5.2 installed on a local server running on Linux.
I have 1 Windows client, 2 Linux clients. None of them can sync. All uses Firefox 38.0.

I have never needed to go into settings. The Mozilla private browsing has remembered every site that I've been on and does not "forget" them when I log off. The history IS shown. What's more, I can NOT delete them with ctrl/shift/delete. This immensly irritating!!!!!! Please offer a solution.

I had no problem playing Netflix videos before FF 66. I'm now on FF 66.0.1. I disabled all add-ons, restarted FF to no avail. This issue MIGHT be DRM related since preview vids play correctly in Netflix. They aren't DRM controlled. The full videos, which are DRM controlled, do not play. 'Play DRM-Controlled Content' is checked in my FF settings. I can play full videos as expected in Chrome. I prefer not to for obvious reasons. The NF error code is F7701-1003. The msg is 'There appears to be a problem with Firefox which is preventing Netflix from starting playback'. I've gone through the steps that NF suggest for this issue. Doing that doesn't resolve the issue.
