Previously, I was able to click on an image in a page, then it would appear below that pre-click. Then, if I wanted to view the image link, it would open that link in a new tab. Now, for some reason, when I try to click to the new location, it opens it in my existing tab, rather than a new tab. How can I fix that?

On Linux, clicking the X in the upper right hand corner of the Firefox display, or entering CTRL-W kills Firefox with no warning. It would be nice if there was an alert that came up asking "Are you sure if you want to kill Firefox?". Or at least add an option for this in Settings.

For some reason, though I have changed absolutely nothing with my browser, now any time a link is supposed to open automatically in a new tab, it opens in an entire new window. My mouse only has two buttons (Magic Mouse on Mac), so there is no way at all for this to be user error in that regard. The best example is in Gmail when you have multiple accounts signed in, you click the profile picture in the upper right and select a different account which then opens in a new tab. I notice that when I use a fresh profile the issue goes away, and migrating a copy of my existing profile between different Firefox versions (this profile I use in 115 ESR exclusively, I don't use it with more than one version, I just mean for testing purposes here), including forks like Waterfox, all are affected by this issue. Is there something in about:config I should look for to change?

Since yesterday, some of my tab groups don't fully collapse when the group tab is clicked. Instead, one tab in the group remains fully expanded, followed by a number indicating how many other tabs are in the group. A screen shot is attached.

Since I enabled tab groups some weeks ago, tab groups have behaved as expected. When the group header is clicked, the tabs in the group spread out to be visible and clickable. When the header is clicked again, all tabs in the group collapse entirely behind the header tab.

Most of my tab groups are still behaving this way. But new groups are now displaying one full tab plus the number, no matter how many other tabs or tab groups are already occupying the window.

Since the behavior is inconsistent, it doesn't seem to be a setting. Is there any fix?

Losing my mind on this one.

Have 2 Macs I use at home, both running FF 141.0 and Sequoia 15.5.

Use Reader for RSS and Airmail for eMail. Both have settings to allow links clicked in those programs to open browser tabs in background. Handy way of banging through newsletters and RSS feeds before shifting to browser.

One on Mac, that open in battleground setting on both apps works as it has for, oh, last several years. On the other Mac, a few days ago that open in background stopped working with Firefox. It does work properly on Chrome and Safari if I set them as default browser (and, as I mentioned above, on my other Mac).

I've tried resetting Firefox on this Mac using the troubleshooting menu and have also cleared the Firefox cache. I even tried resetting the launch database in that Mac, although the fact Chrome and Safari are working fine suggests the OS isn't the culprit.

I'm unaware of having changed any settings, but am aware that "idiot user" may be the issue.

Regardless of how this happened, any ideas how to sort this annoyance out? Thanks!

Hi, I want to make a simple extension for Firefox that auto toggles vertical tab based on the aspect ratio of the Firefox window. I found `sidebar.verticalTabs` in about:config that toggles vertical tabs, but a simple googling tells me that it is not possible for web extension to modify about:config values. Is there any other API that toggle vertical tabs? Thanks!

"Window 2 is current" and there is "Window 1" (which contains recent work)

My question(s):

How can I switch from window 2 (current) to window 1 (recent work)? and/or How can I combine both windows?

Thank you. (For your information, I have had a partial stroke, and I am 79 years old.)

There are many tabs open in the firefox window. I'm closing the firefox. I'm opening it again. All tabs opened during the previous opening disappear.Either a new page or a single tab opens. The settings are set to "Open previous windows and tabs" (Image 1)

I go to "Firefox View" ---"Open tabs". (image 2) I see 2-5 windows there. In this case, there are 3 windows.WINDOW 1 is my main window with the tabs that should have been saved and opened when firefox was launched again. I close all tabs from unnecessary windows with a cross.Only window 1 remains. But when restarting, an empty or different window opens again. And again, there are a lot of unnecessary and incomprehensible windows on the list. Previously, a window with restored tabs from the previous session always opened. Question: 1)How can I restore the normal recovery of the previous session when restarting? 2) Tell me.I can somehow switch between windows (Firefox View" ---"Open tabs)(Image 1) Thank you.

Please see this video. Double-clicking can only close the foreground tab. If I double-click the background tab, it will become the foreground tab, and double-clicking it multiple times in a short period of time will not close it. I have to wait about one second after stopping clicking the left mouse button before I can double-click it again to close it. Some Chromium-based browsers do not have this issue, and each of their tabs can be closed by double-clicking I can only show it with video. Please leave a message if you can't see the video.
