Updated and lost everything in my browser and now is complete crap, no bookmarks, and it install google as a search engine that doesn't work. Can you help me rollback to the version that worked just fine? Searched help and didn't find a way to resolve problem.

I have suddenly lost all my firefox data today.. after creating a new browser profile? I never bothered creating profiles and stuff when the update for that came and it seemed like Mozilla never forced me to create named profiles until today when I open it again after booting up and it suddenly asks me to make a profile for the browser and after I did I just saw that I lost everything, I have a firefox account that's sync to my mobile phone but I can't seem to sync it neither, my browsing history, bookmarks, and passwords are all gone and I've even checked the AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox folder for it and even the recycle bin but I can't seem to find a single trace of my data before firefox forced me to create a browsing profile for my computer. Hoping someone has a solution to this.

I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox from the Microsoft store and was wondering if my old bookmarks and passwords are saved as backups somewhere and if so where. Or if its deleted when I uninstalled the app.

My bookmarks toolbar shows but it is blank. I had 60+ bookmarks on it. Why did Firefox trash my bookmarks?

Why did Firefox force me to create a new profile? I can get to my old profile, but the bookmarks toolbar is blank. The bookmarks showed for a while, then the toolbar went blank. What gives?

I have had all kinds of problems with Firefox the past several years, and I am about ready to can Firefox and go with Edge and Chrome. In my opinion, Firefox is a piece of crap, and I am fed up with it. I already have Edge and Chrome, but mostly use them as a backup when Firefox doesn't work right.

Is there any hope Firefox will get better, or should I jump ship with the other rats fleeing this despicable piece of junk? I have been hanging onto Firefox, because I am familiar with it and used to like it, and have used it for over a decade. But my patience is growing thinner.

after Firefox update all bookmarks stopped working and are not editable. All tabs crash, including Firefox help link from the Firefox menu.

Is there any way to retrieve bookmarks?

I need to enter each url in the browser line and save bookmark for it to work.

My bookmarks changed on the URL's in over 30 different bookmarks, but the names of the bookmarks stayed the same. I lost a lot of very personal information. What did Firefox do? Not sure when this happened, since I've not used bookmarks for a while.

Firefox installed a new release and now all my bookmarks, add-ins etc are gone. I went to About:profiles, but I when I launch the other profile that is there it still show the new profile

My Windows 11 computer crashed recently. Before restoring windows I was able to backup some data files. I thought that I had a Firefox backup, as I recorded a folder called “Old Firefox Data” It contained a Folder called “2eguguhi.default-release” of size 751 MB. It in turn contained 7,708 Files, & 2,269 Folders. When I re-started Firefox on my “fixed” Windows 11, It was a virgin with no History & no Bookmarks; my old configuration was lost. I tried to follow the advice Fro Mozilla Help But to no avail. It was not able to detect or recognise the Folder in “Old Firefox Data”

Am I Lost or can someone Help please.

When prompted Firefox does not load correctly, but once I get yahoo emails loaded I can access them. Can I uninstall & then reinstall firefox to try to get it to work. Will I loose all my emails? I’m still using windows 10.

Today, I once again had to refresh Firefox Due to my eBay page being rehashed and not usable, but I forgot about my Facebook and after the refresh found I have now lost almost six months of chat history (most recent of which is very important to me), and I just can;t find a way to recover it. Please advise me what to do. Kind regards

After using clean my Mac, I accidently deleted Firefox and important bookmarks. I have searching for the boikmarks folder in TimeMachine but cant find them. Any ideas please?

UPDATE: efforts to fix this have revealed that it's likely the release of Profiles didn't cause this problem although I speculate there might have been an inadvertent time bomb in the release. I will open a different question searching doesn't turn up the fix. If I would delete this post if possible.

FF 148.0 was running on MacOS with my profile as a folder (e.g, trb618r9.default) under Firefox. When I looked in history it was empty so I restarted FF, none of my tabs were there, and TreeStyleTabs didn't display. Investigating I see a new folder named Profiles that has a profile in it with the trb618r9.default name but not all the data in the original trb618r9.default. I renamed the "new trb618r9.default" and moved the original trb618r9.default to Profiles and restarted FF but still am not seeing the original fxxx data which still exists.

How can I recover?

My wife's old Windows 10 HP laptop quit working last week do to some Operating System failure while it was trying to do an update. It finally did a reboot and now it is useless, at least as it is! It will NOT complete the boot process after trying all of the options offered. All that I am able to is exit out of Windows to a "DOS prompt." I am able to get to the Mozilla Firefox folder and others contain within. The new Windows 11 laptop I bought her is working fine with a fresh Firefox browser installed about a week ago. What she wants is her web links, settings and saved passwords "copied" from the old laptop and installed on the new one! We have no idea how many there are to retrieve! I'm hoping that there might only be one folder that I can copy via "command line" prompt to a USB drive and move the file(s) to the new laptop the same way. Can anyone tell me what I need to know? I am looking to Restore yesterday Firefox have lost all my pin tabs when I opened this morning the browser how can I get my old stuff back? Please help me out. Thanks

Attempted to update FF using the 140.2.0esr.msi file. During install it asked for a location of bookmarks (seemed off, like a new install) so the process was stopped. All FF profile files appeared to have been untouched based on their dates. So the following directories: \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr where both copied to a secondary directory as a safety precaution. Install was restarted and it appears to have again installed a new version with no bookmarks, extensions or password DB carried forward from the previous install, which is not what I wanted.

Can this be corrected, by moving the copied profile back in.
