I have firefox as my default browser with Bitwarden extension. I use yahoo and sign in for browser. I also have outlook for email. Maybe a month back, when signing into yahoo, I would type in the first few letters and bitwarden login options would appear. They still do but selecting one seems to do nothing now. If I open bitwarden and try autofill from the login file, it says it cannot autofill, items must be copied and pasted. Its odd that in yahoo home page login the options appear but do not autofill as they used to maybe a month ago.

Firefox offers to automatically save user IDs and corresponding passwords on a site by site basis. It then will offer (or in some cases just insert the information) on the same site's login page when you return. This seems to be called "autofill" in the documents.

However, for some sites (and this appears to be random), when confronted with a login page, not only will Firefox automatically insert the user ID and PW (autofill), but for each step it will ALSO accept the insertion to move to the next question, effectively automatically log in.

For example, for one site, when I open a new tab and navigate to a site that I had previously saved user ID and PW for, the login page will briefly flash, and then I will be automatically logged into the site. There seems to be no name that I can find to describe this behaviour that distinguishes it from the "autofill" described above. I will call it "autologin" for this question.

My question is how to control this behaviour? I have not consciously chosen to have Firefox autologin for any site, but I do save ID and PW for the autofill capability. Is there a way to turn the autologin on or off (i.e. control it) for specific sites?

Keeper password manager stopped working on Firefox about a month ago. It is the Keeper auto fill that is not working. I have exhausted support from Keeper. They cannot explain it. I have removed and downloaded Keeper and Keeper auto fill about 10 times to no avail. It works on Chrome and Safari, but not on Firefox. All devices and accounts are up to date with the latest versions. I am having to stop using Firefox for now because it is such a hassle to fill in all my passwords. If I can't solve it, I'll have to try a different password manager, or stop using Firefox.

I have firefox running on my mac desktop, macbook and iphone. Starting yesterday the firefox password manager has stopped working on my desktop - it won't make any suggestions for passwords on web pages. I've been reduced to going to about:prefererences, manage passwords and manually searching for my password. It still works on my macbook and iphone. Any suggestions as to how to debug this?

Hello Firefox helpers!

I save my login details for various websites in Firefox version 144.0.2. Normally, I navigate to the login area of a website, and Firefox suggests the right username and password, and I just have to select the correct username.

For the past few days, I have had to enter my username and password manually to log in. The functionality for saving usernames and passwords is no longer working correctly.

In the settings dialogue some check boxes are greyed out. See attached screenshot.

What is wrong with my firefox?

Best regards Günter

The latest update kicked me out of all the web pages I was logged into.

For most of those pages this is a minor inconvenience. For Deviant Art this caused an existential crises. My user name includes uppercase letters. Firefox password manager saved it in all lower case for some odd reason. And to make things even more frustrating, the username and password fields do not seem to recognize the auto fill. By the time I've realized what's going on, DA has locked me out from logging in or even attempting to recover my username and password until I clear the cache for another go... which means having to do the rounds of logging back into my e-mail and other accounts. Hopefully I've fixed the user name entry in the password file...

On the one hand, yes I'm frustrated, on the other, is there some way to fix the DA log in issue?

..and can we please not log people out of webpages when the browser updates? If that's at all possible?

Heck, I'd settle for an easy way to clear site specific cookies. And it needs to be something I'm not going to have to search for the next time I'm booted out of a finicky website.

Hello! Correctly saved passwords don't work when logging in. I either cut them directly from the login screen and paste them back into the same screen, or I have to type them in manually, and then it works. I've encountered this problem several times now, even on different computers. I can absolutely rule out incorrect password entry. This is a very big problem!
