There was an error when downloading files with the browser, indicating that there was a problem with the file directory. The download failed, and changing the file directory was still ineffective. Then, it resulted in a situation where no web pages could be opened, as if the network was disconnected. After closing the browser and reopening it, it returned to normal, but the download still could not be used. This problem has existed since versions 115.24 and 115.25.

This keeps happening - not an isolated incident.

The option to open a dialog box to upload a file becomes non-existent. Concurrently, I'm unable to download and save files.

This is resolved when Mozilla releases an update and I can update my browser. Then eventually something happens and the features stop working. It's like a download fails and then blocks further ones. However, there isn't something obviously stuck in my downloads history.

I can't seem to close my browsers and reopen it to fix, have to wait for an update but this always resolves it. This has happened at least a dozen times now. It is NOT my operating system.

This is wildly frustrating.

For reasons that are not clear, a few days ago, Firefox would not download any files — giving a failure message. I have tried all the different ways of resetting, disabling extensions etc, and even deleting Firefox and re-installing, but that has not solved the problem. Help!

I'd been trying to download 2 large files from Icann and kept getting premature completion with Firefox. It would be showing ##MB of 356MB downloaded for a few seconds and then out of the blues it just says completed. As you can see in the shared video, I've tried this several times.

I thought that maybe one of the Firefox addons was causing the issue so I tried Troubleshoot Mode but that resulted in the same behavior.

I then went into Firefox Profile Manager and created a new profile. But that too had the same behavior - 🤔!

So I then tried Chromium. It completed the download successfully and the file passed gunzip test.

So, why is Firefox, even with a new profile, failing to complete a download?

Beforehand, I must say that I am a big fan of Firefox, I've been an user since the beginning. However, sadly I am switching to Safari due to the fact that I work with file transfers through Wetransfer platform and fro some unknown reason I get incomplete downloads from Firefox. I tried all the steps and procedures to refresh, uninstall, reinstall, troubleshoot mode and even switching accounts. Furthermore, nothing worked. I hope you guys can fix this issue and have me back. I'll be delighted. Thank you and until next time!

Hello! I'm trying to download a quantity of audio files from a specific website. Once I open firefox, I can manage to download a few in that session - anywhere from 1 to 10 usually. Then, at some point, the downloads start to hang. They appear as how they do when they're loading - "Unknown time left - 0 bytes (0 bytes/sec)". However, they never load. The only solution is to restart Firefox, to be able to download a few more.

I'm on Linux mint, Firefox version 137.0.2 (64-bit). I tried running firefox through the terminal to see if anything would show up when the downloads stop working, and I got this:

[GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt [Child 47831, Main Thread] WARNING: Unable to open /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied: 'glib warning', file /builds/worker/checkouts/gecko/toolkit/xre/nsSigHandlers.cpp:201

(/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin:47553): dconf-WARNING **: 17:01:14.186: Unable to open /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied

And a lot of "ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment." - but those seem to happen all the time during regular usage.

Any way I can go about troubleshooting this, or am I stuck with restarting Firefox every few files I need to download? Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
