Windows 10 Firefox 88/89 64-bit PC It seems there was a compact mode before version 89? I don't know if that's what I want.

I would like to have a simple selection in FF Preferences to turn OFF the Proton stuff. I am not an IT geek and I'm not comfortable doing things like changing CSS code - if I knew how to do that stuff, I'd be using Linux not Windows. Since I'm stuck with Windows, I rely on a good browser like FF v.88 to take care of the technical stuff.

Version 89 seems to be OK with Proton shut off, but I hear this is a temporary fix. I also don't know if shutting off Proton fixed the spacing nightmare in Bookmarks - I lost mine reloading v.88 and haven't had a chance to look for them. (v.89 is on the PC upstairs - this one is still on v.88.)

For some context on the anger at FF's change, those of us who use Facebook on a regular basis were forced into a horrendous update in late 2021 which barely works, and Facebook continuously changes code, fixing what isn't broken. To find that the browser we've relied on for years did the same with no warning is very upsetting.

I'd like to get a message directly to Mozilla but "Submit Feedback" has been shut down for over a week.

The bookmarks are now all spaced out so they can't be read and they take up 2 to 3 times more space. This is AWFUL. The tabs are now "floating around" so they don't look like tabs and also CAN'T BE READ. Isn't there anyone there that knows how to do graphics? Both of these things were just fine and DID NOT need to be changed. And now they're awful and unusable.

How do I change them back?

Dear Firefox community, I do not know why you are not solving your browser-short time memory loss problem! When I download a video / file, the internet is disconnected in the middle, and it takes a while to connect, then the download starts again from 0%! It wastes both my time and the internet. If the power connection is disconnected while downloading again - I don't get any backup of that file when I connect to the internet after the power connection is restored ...! However, other browsers have this advantage. I like Firefox a lot, but this short time memory loss system bothers me a lot. I hope to fix this issue in the next update. Hello at Firefox community help,

I am wanting to open a website program on our local Australian SBS TV - SBS On- Demand but the site will not open due to the following displayed message -

Video Playback Error Sorry, we’ve encountered an error playing this video. If you have an ad blocker turned on, try turning it off or whitelisting our website before trying again. This may prevent you from loading videos. Australian Motocross Championship: Wonthaggi - Full replay Sport

The web site program link is - https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/1876116035922/australian-motocross-championship-wonthaggi-full-replay

Can someone help with the sequence of steps to tell me how to locate the Firefox Ad blocker and edit the Ad blocker details to allow SBS On-Demand to play - https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/

I am currently using a Win10 PC

When i updated i lost all my bookmarks but my issue is that randomly firefox will just stop responding? when i open a new tab it wont load so i close the window and try to reopen it but an error message pops up saying im trying to open an older version and it forces me to 'make new profile' then it opens an older version and prompts me to update even though i already had, so i update and then i have to sign in to everything again. and this has happened multiple times so i started making bookmarks of all the tabs i had open so i dont lose them and them save them as backups, but i cant restore the back ups

I try to open Gmail, whether that be through my bookmark bar or actually searching it up, but it won't open. There's a brief loading icon on my mouse cursor but other than that nothing happens. No new tabs are opened, my current tab isn't changed, not even the url. It works in other browsers, why not Firefox?

Following the latest Firefox update, my computer no longer saves passwords or logins from day to day. I have checked all the settings all of which are as they should be. I deplore the way the browser looks now and want the old look back... I have vision problems and am totally ignorant about computers. I finally found FF and the last version was PERFECT. I could clearly see it, knew how to use it, and LOVED it and I WANT IT BACK. SIMPLY... Because I am so ignorant, the instructions I have seen so far might have been written in a foreign language. Is there a SIMPLE way to restore the OLD LOOK and feel. Keeping all the new security and other stuff is fine...although I was fine with the way it was, but I will have to find another browser if someone cannot help me fix the image back to the way it was. Please, why do they upgrade this stuff and not leave a way to keep the old look for those of us who don't want to change? If anyone can help me...I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

A new version has been released - 89. And the user interface has changed again. And some of the changes are very annoying. I thought I would write a feedback (review). But I found out through google that the feedback page has been down since 2014.

So the question would be where can I leave feedback on one change or another?

After the Firefox upgrade to version 89, the icons disappeared from the menu. When I look at the changes page, I see that they have been specifically removed. In my case, the functionality of the Firefox menu has been severely compromised by losing those icons. So far, I’ve used those icons as a mechanism for faster navigation between different points. Because it is faster to recognize a single icon (character) than to read text. In the past, toolbar items overlapped menu items with icons. And now not. Not only that, the layout of the menu items has changed.

My suggestion would be to return the icons. And make them show / hide through settings.
