When I am on some webpages, and want to copy and paste a paragraph, of course I highlight it first -- but as of a couple of days ago, the links to pop-up boxes on the page will not highlight. If I go to the same page with Chrome, there is no problem. I can highlight links to other webpages, it is just the ones to pop-up boxes. I have checked and this problem is not machine-specific. I am on a laptop and I checked our desktop and it has the same problem. Perhaps the recent update changed something? I have attached a screenshot of a page from Ancestry.com with the problem -- on the left I have tried to highlight the whole thing, and, as you can see, the links are not highlighted, and if I copy and paste, the links do not work. Thanks for any help you can offer Jeanne

I'm having trouble opening urls in a private window from the command line on Windows 11.

Firefox version: 144.0.2

Starting a new private window works fine with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window

But doing: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window "https://www.google.com"

just opens the link in the last selected window if the last window selected is non private it just opens the link there instead of a new or existing private window

I have also tried with no success: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private "https://www.google.com"

I can no longer alter text the URL address field! One of two things is happening: a) the URL address bar is completely obscured by a pull-down menu of suggestions; b) if there are no suggestions, a pop-up appears which simply is a copy of what is in the URL address bar, but no text editing can be achieved from this pop-up window, and this pop-up window 90% blocks the URL address bar. This behavior occurs the instant I click anywhere in the URL field. Not at all useful when I'm trying to delete metadata tagged on to the end of the URL!

A recent update (https://windowsreport.com/firefox-fixes-an-8-year-old-windows-bug-that-broke-virtual-desktop-use/) has broken behavior I previously depended on as part of my workflows: If I clicked a link in one desktop, it would open that link in the browser instance on the last desktop I'd used, so I could keep all my browser windows on one virtual desktop full-screened for easy viewing, then slide back to my other workspaces for messaging/writing/etc.

Now, apparently as a bug fix, every time I try to open a link on a desktop, it creates a new Firefox instance in that desktop instead of opening the link in the browser I have open on other workspaces. This has dramatically impacted how I work. How can I restore the previous behavior? It is so disruptive having new windows opening all the time instead of keeping them in my dedicated browser workspace. If there isn't a fix for this, I will need to move to a new browser.

I filled out this form completely to resolve another issue only to come to the section at the lower part of this page. "Troubleshooting Information (optional): We can't automatically get your browser's troubleshooting data, please try these manual steps. "

I clicked the link...silly me...thinking the link would open a modal or popup. it took me to another page, losing everything i typed to ask to get a problem resolved. GGGRRRRRRRR! to put it lightly.

Maybe someone can fix that? I'm likely posting this in the wrong place. But it is posted and I hope the right people see it to not let it happen again.

Oddly, the browser kept the images for the form I was working on, only the typed text was lost.

FIrefox 143 appears to prepend a google link to some links when clicked ... ...

… … and then after a delay load the page with the correct link.

This appears to be something new (or never noticed before) after my MAC OSX upgrade to 26.

Can't tell who's problem it is but it's annoying. Have to try other browsers to know if it's just firefox.

Any insights would be appreciated.

When I click on an appointment in the Square appointment calendar, a sidebar appears on the right with information about the client and the appointment. I highlight this information and copy it to a Word document which I print out and use as I interview the client. This has worked just fine for years. As of Wednesday, Sept 10, the client's phone number and email address began appearing in blue text and underlined in the sidebar, and the blue text cannot be copied. Everything else copies just fine. The problem is that the client's phone number and email address are two of the most important things I need to copy. Why are those two items suddenly in blue and not copyable? How can I change this? (I know how to copy and paste--that's not the problem.) I contacted Square support, and they said that the blue text is copyable when using the Chrome browser; I tried it, and they were right--it copied just fine. But, I don't want to use Chrome, I want to use Firefox. How can I fix this?

I prefer Firefox to Microsoft Edge - but when I click Read more to continue reading an article in the same page I am on - it opens a new blank tab. then I have to go back to where I wanted to read more - and it is there. But why is it opening a blank page first? i tried changing settings but there is no "Open link in target" - there is just an option to open a new window or tab - when all I want to do is see the rest of the article. it works fine in MS Edge - but as i said, I prefer FireFox. is there a way to fix this?

Upgraded to FF 142.0 and don't have the Link Preview that was described in the new release info. You can now see what’s behind a link before visiting it with Link Previews. Long press a link (or right-click and choose Preview Link). Previews can optionally include AI-generated key points, which are processed on your device to protect your privacy. Long press does nothing and right click on link doesn't have a preview option. I am using Windows 10 which is current and 64 bit. Don't really care all that much, but they said it was there for EN version and it isn't.
