I downloaded & installed a newer vs of Firefox, only to find the new launch screen informing me that this is now using a 'new profile' and 'it can't be deleted,' but I can get access to my last bookmarks by setting up a Firefox Account and profile. Done - ish. I'm not sure the process completed as I do not have another device to register to this newly created account. Meanwhile, all of my bookmarks are MIA, and there are no folders called 'bookmarkbackups' and there are no other Mozilla files and folders anywhere on my HD that don't have today's date as last modified. HELP!!! please.
This all started when I could no longer download pdfs from shared folders (accessed last week) on the Google (evil) platform. Our IT guy suggested I update my browser version, since I had no problem when I tried a test and downloaded the pdfs w/ease using Chrome(also evil). So I updated my Firefox browser because I don't want to be forced into using Chrome as my primary browser - ever. Now I seem to be totally hosed - by Mozilla this time. You know, I was perfectly happy and well served running vs ~66. And this kind of thing is exactly why I don't like updates. Please help me and restore my previously unwavering faith and loyalty to Mozilla. I have been using Mozilla web browsers exclusively since 1993/4(?) (I don't think it was even called Firefox then). Please help.

Hi,
I have Firefox installed on my MacBook Air running OS X El Capitan.
Everytime I go to open Firefox I'm met with "Firefox is trying to install a new helper tool. Type your password to allow this".
Is this a bug or is there really something to install every time I log on?
Any help / advice appreciated

I was messing around with Privacy & Security settings. Under Cookies & Site Data, I checked Delete Cookies & Site Data when Firefox closes. I've decided I don't like it and want to uncheck it. But now it's greyed out and I can't find any way to change it back. It says I'm in permanent private browsing mode. There MUST be a way to change this back to how it was! What is it???

I am unable to connect to the following URL https://lakmshaegov01.msha.gov/UserManagement/ChangePassword.aspx. All other browsers seem to work.
I ran an SSL Labs test and it confirms that all tested versions of Firefox fail. I would like to know if anyone can spot something that might allow me to connect by temporarily relaxing the security checks in Firefox for this site.

When I download almost any type of file, Firefox nicely asks whether I would like to always save the file, or always open it with some program. But for .jpg files, it makes a blanket, hard-coded assumption that I do not want to preserve my choice. I cannot add .jpg to the list of actions in the preferences. The authors of the browser forcibly mandate that a .jpg download must go to a popup, and the user's preferred action cannot be maintained internally.
This is a mistake. I realize someone thought it was a very rational idea. it is not. This is a bug.
How can I work around this mistake in the Firefox design?

Hello, this appears to be a Firefox-exclusive problem as any other browser used will fix the issues listed below. However, when I am using Firefox, the following happens:
I've tried multiple ways to fix this, including clearing my cache, running in Safe Mode, and removing my saved login. None of these have worked, unfortunately. I've reached out to Twitter Support, but soon realized I wouldn't hear back about specific problems at all. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

I can't open a Spotify URI from Firefox But I can open it from command line using the --uri option. As in, this works fine from the terminal:
spotify --uri="spotify:artist:6OqhFYFJDnBBHas02HopPT"
and whatever Firefox is doing just launches Spotify without navigating to the thing indicated by the URI
Is there, perchance, a simple file edit I can do that will fix this for me?

I have version 75.0 of firefox. I was browsing as normal and it suddenly locked up. If I type in the address bar then search suggestions appear but nothing loads in the main window. Non of my favourites load. Clicking the new tab button doesn't load a new tab. The menu button opens but the options don't load. I have tried uninstalling. I have removed any sign of mozilla / firefox from my program files and program files x86. If I right click on the main window, the menu that appears has pretty much every option you could imagine. theirs so many option that it scrolls off the screen. on one occasion my laptop blue screened (which it doesn't normally do) but when it came back on firefox worked again until I turned the laptop back on again the next day and it was broke again

Is there a preference to disable the expansion of the urlbar (aka address bar, awesome bar, mega bar) without disabling its new features? When expanded, it covers part of my bookmarks bar and makes it harder to click the bookmarks. Also I dislike the chunky UI look.
Things I've tried that did not solve my problem:
I'm hoping there is a browser.urlbar.update1.expand or similar that I can toggle off. If there definitely isn't, please confirm so I can submit a bug.

I cannot export or backup bookmarks. When I try to, no file is created. I have refreshed Firefox, created a new profile and copied the sqlite file, and uninstalled/reinstalled. I already upgraded my home's internet speed up to 1Gb. It included a router's change. The fact i, when i do a speed test on Firefox, it does reach only 600 Mb download speed and 100 upload. If i do the same speed test with another browser, i get 900 MB download and 100 Mb upload. So , how do i configure Firefox in order to get same values than Edge and Chrome browsers? I understand it might has to be with some parameters in about:config . Could you give me some light on this? Thanks

Everytime I open the suggestions in the address bar Search with Google or Search with Amazon appear at the top. You cannot remove them by using the 'forget about this site' feature and if you change the browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus to 'False' you don't get the suggestions. Can you tell me how to permanently remove Search with Google or Search with Amazon from the suggestions. Thank you.

A day ago I did the Firefox update to 75.0. Since then I have had trouble viewing ebay items. After you do a ebay search a list of items show up. When you open an item from a search list, you get a photo of the item usually on the left side and a description below the photo item. However, below and after the description everything including other seller photos and text are on the left side of the page. Normally they are across the page from the left side to right side. But now the layout is all on the left side. Everything is against the left side only and very hard to read. For many years I have never run into this problem before. I signed off and restarted Ebay with same problem. Looked at my son's computer and the ebay layout looked correct like like mine use to. I also opened up my google chrome browser and signed onto ebay. The ebay photos and text were correctly located on the page. So it appears that the recent update to firefox will not display the correct layout format in ebay. Can I download to the previous version of firefox? I 'm using latest Firefox browser 75.0 and running Windows 10. I attached a screen shot photo.
