Firefox crashes on opening with immediate werfault.exe. I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 32-bit with upgrade that preserved files & programs. Everything works but firefox. I've tried uninstall/install, uninstall & extensive removal of all remaining mozilla/firefox files and cleaned registry with regedit all relevant instances of firefox. then reinstalled but still failed in the same way.

Good evening !

After reinstalling Windows 10 1809 properly on my computer (total reset), Firefox is unable to access some websites and content such as Mozilla Support page or YouTube videos:

Some details :

- It does'nt happen with other web browsers (tested on Chrome, Edge and Opera). - Youtube homepage loads just fine, but the crash happens when I click on a video, no matter if I'm logged in or not. - Mozilla homepage works just fine, but support page is impossible to reach (I had to use Opera to write these lines) -I installed Microsoft Feature Pack (this one : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack), but no improvement. - I tryed to reset the USERAGENT but it was already by default. - I tryed to reinstall Firefox, no improvement. - I have tryed with and without Adobe Flash, no difference, problem is still here.

Here you can see the 7 last error codes found in about:crashes

Here is a couplet of websites that are impossible to reach at all at the moment, but there should be more ... https://www.clubic.com/ https://www.gettyimages.fr/

My Windows is brand new and official, I have a tower system that works perfectly fine except for this problem, which is very weird, that's why I'm askig you some help !

Thanks for your precious help and for your time.

Firefox is constantly crashing when opening certain links or webpages. Example include opening the malwarebytes link from the article as well as trying to login to Adobe's website. Graphics drivers are up to date, Win10 is up to date, Firefox is up to date. Safe mode still causes crashes, links are working on another pc but I just did a clean install so I'm not sure what the cause is.

Alright, so first the story, then the specifics.

Story: I updated to Firefox 55.0 a few weeks ago, presumably when it came out, as I had auto-updates enabled. Immediately after doing so, the large majority of videos would crash my tab. I'd get what I can only assume is the standard message of "Gah, My tab crashed!" etc. Anyways, I did some digging around, these forums and others, none of the solutions worked. I settled for the quick n dirty solution, and rolled back to firefox 54.0, which worked fine. Until today. Today, 54.0 was experiencing the issue as well, so I naturally decided to try 55.0 - which didn't work either. That leaves me where I'm at now.

Specific details: Tabs crash upon trying to load a video, presumably of a different format. It crashes occasionally on youtube videos, but is for the most part OK with them. Scrolling through a facebook feed however, will give you videos from lots of different sources, and I can reliably crash my tab within 10s if I load up facebook and just scroll down.

Potential fixes I have tried (of which, none solved my issue):

  • Going into About:config and changing the browser.tabs.autorestart and browser.tabs.autorestart2 both to be false. This is following the recommendation of another thread, given to a different user with a similar problem, found here: ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1159697 ).
  • Booting the browser up into safe mode
  • Updating any/all drivers. Specifically I can for sure, without a doubt, say that my gfx card drivers are up to date.
  • Creating a new firefox profile, and using it instead.

At this point the only thing that comes to mind is the idea that the plugin loading these videos isn't working correctly? But is it even a plugin?

Worth noting, if I change the about:config file pieces I listed above to both be false, instead of crashing a tab it will crash the entire browser. A crash report of that specific incident can be found using bp-92e3bbb7-9388-4412-9573-504010170905 .

The normal issue happening can be found using bp-a8e33356-c344-4159-889b-b330a0170905 .

Thank you for any/all help you can provide.

After last auto update (this morning, 7/11/2017), Firefox (Versión 55.0b7 (64-bit)) crashed every single time I tried to start it.

Finally, I have surrendered to the fact of losing all my flaps and groups, and I have made a startup from scratch. After that, I have started the (painful) process of rebuilding all the flaps from browsing history but... at the fifth flap IT CRASHES AGAIN!

This is the generated code:
