I downloaded Firefox to update my address bar so that various search engines could be used. This was ok for the evening. But next time I booted up, FF reverted to what I had before. How do I make the address bar searches permanent. The FF version I am currently using is 139.0.4.

It is kinda annoying as I use the address bar also for searching. I used to select google.nl and type over it. Now, this resolving interferes and I end up with a "funny joke?zx=(numbers)&no_sw_cr=(number)" in the search bar. I suspect it has something to do with Firefox as this started with the update to 139.0.1 Thanks for any help.

I use duckduckgo page for search in Firefox. Hate my search terms hopping up to the address bar. How to stop this?

A previous search on this question came up with a solution which doesn't work, at least not with latest Firefox version (139.0.1 (64-bit).

I.e., type in searchBar "about:config"

   Accept warning
Search "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" and change it to false (Do this Only if you want to disable suggesions)
Search "keyword.enabled" and change it to false
Search "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" and change it to false

DOESN'T WORK.

Attached is an image of the issue. I've looked around online and found people with similar issues, though not that exact fault. At first I was concerned about viruses but I've run multiple virus scans of my computer and there's no other signs I'd associate with one, so I assume it's another variation on that problem. It happens randomly, no specific triggers I can think of. I use three Firefox profiles, and it's happened on two of them. A ton of search results (the attached is just one example, the top results of reddit had this as well) will have seemingly random words replaced like this. This also occured on a page in my university's website. When I try to copy these, they copy as their original words and not the weird symbols. I'm very confused, basically. It doesn't go away on reload, ctrl+shift+r, or cache clearing, but closing and reopening the tab fixes it.

How do I find where zip code is stored? When I use zip code search, it is prefilled to 48201.

I live in 45014. I do not know where the above zip came from. I've only ever been to Michigan once in my life and that was in 2002.

I've searched in settings and can't find where a location is stored.

Hello. From time to time, a problem with tabs and the settings button in the Mozilla browser occurs. The tab close buttons and the settings button stop responding, are not pressed, tabs have to be closed manually using the right mouse button. Everything starts working after restarting the browser, but again after some time everything stops working again. This happened on version 138 and I observe it on 139.
