Currently when I click a link in and email, it always opens in Microsoft Edge even though my computer has Firefox as default browser. Is there another setting I'm missing?

I see many complaints about this new version v 149 for the Mac. The most outrageous one is that you can no longer drag links from a browser page (try BBC) to an email or a doc. You have to copy the link then it won't turn blue and only when received will it show up as a link. Like many others after 30 years use preferred over Safari and others I am seriously losing patience with Firefox. On the very day you announce split screen for Ff windows - you disable a vital feature that has worked for years causing me to waste so far 60 minutes of my hard pressed work time. Maybe this will be corrected in the next upgrade. But I am now intending to avoid all Firefox upgrades for 6 months after being offered. I doubt anyone on this forum will come back on this but my set-up is Mac OS Monterey - and Firefox v 148 worked perfectly before today. I hesitate to try and install the previous version because I am not used to doing such tech moves. Perhaps someone in the Mozilla head office congratulating themselves on the marvellous new upgrade will come across this but I doubt it

Hello Mozilla, FireFox in my default browser, but since you last update to 150.0, now my outlook won't open the hyper links from e-mail with them. It worked just fine between the two before. Now I get a message " this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this compute. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator! anybody else report this issue since? I've tried all the internet advised fixes of changing the regedit registers from FIREFOXhtml to just htmlfile, but no joy. Google browser keeps popping up in my browserwhen Firefox is my default browser in my setting and downloaded & installed from my Google playstore. I don't like Google and what it does but I feel trapped because I have so much important data on their Gmail and other Google apps. I am a senior with traumatic brain injury and have no tech knowledge or experience to have other options.

I used to be able to clink on an image link prior to a Firefox update (I don't know which one) to go to that site. Firefox gives me that it cannot find the server. What can I do to correct this problem?

Links don't work reliably in Firefox. For example, I can't pay with PayPal when making a purchase because clicking the "PayPal" link doesn't open the PayPal page.

Is there a Firefox setting I need to change, or do I need to switch to a different browser?

How do I get the 'open in new tab' option back when I use the right button on my mouse. It does not appear on the menu when I right click? This is a change overnight and I have not altered any settings.

If a click a link on the current page, the new page does not get loaded and the progress bar keeps sliding till eternity. But if I choose the option 'Open link in new tab' things work fine. The problem is being faced both on Windows and Linux. I do not know if it is a simple settings issue. Help is requested. Thanks in advance

as the title suggests, i am now allowede to copy and paste at all anymore from the browser. and not only that, i am also unable to paste anything i have copied from the browser into another app. i am able to copy and paste from and to any other app, just not anything firefox related

i have checked about:config if anything with cut, copy, clipboard etc is set to true, and it was

i have refreshed firefox multiple times, which fixes it for 3 minutes and then im back to the same problem

i have uninstalled firefox, removed the local files, rebooted my pc, reinstalled firefox. and that didnt work

i stopped all addons, and i tried safe mode

i am at a loss what is going on with my firefox

also to add, i tried a firefox fork (librewolf) and from that i am able to copy and paste from and to the browser, which makes it even weirder

Is it possible to click individual segments of an URL in the address bar to navigate there directly (without manually selecting and deleting the tail)? It's a convenient way to reach upper layers of a website.

For example Vivaldi implements it via Ctrl+<Mouseover/click> (see attached screen capture)

Is there an option or addon to enable this? Thanks in advance

I have a local file I wish to view in firefox without starting a HTTP server (it's only docs for a crate I'm building) however Firefox is unable to open the file despite the file existing and having correct permissions. The file was in a separate mount (disk) to where Ffox is installed so I copied to to /tmp/ to remove that as a variable but still no joy..

Untill latest update when on a site was link, ex. http://site.site/repository/text.txt i could select the link and from context menu select "open link in new tab/window" or "save link as". Now only "copy link" action is available. Im on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS Thanks for any response.

I'm simply trying to email someone using the email link on their site.

The link is a mailto link which requires an email application (which I don't have). All I want is to copy the link to the clipboard.

Firefox lets me right click the link and copy the email address, but this doesn't allow me to provide the required Subject specified by the site's author.

I could have sworn Firefox used to have this feature. Netscape and IE certainly always had it back in the day.

First, is there a list of commandline options?

Second, I would like to be able to start Firefox with a specified URL from a batch file -or- a .net program. Then, either close FF -or- switch to a different URL. is this possible?

When using Firefox and clicking on a link oftentimes instead of the link opening in Firefox it opens Microsoft Edge. I have Firefox set as my default browser. Other than uninstalling Microsoft Edge is there any other solution to this problem? My OS is Windows 11 Pro.
