bonjour , j'ai un problème avec le corecteur d'orthographe de firefox, la case Vérifier l’orthographe pendant la saisie est coché et quand j'écris pratiquement tous les mots sont surlignés en rouge et quand je clic droit sur un mot çela me donne une solution farfelue , par exemple si je clic sur pratiquement cela me propose : prearrangement merci de votre aide cordialement

I've been searching for three days now for a solution that will work to restore my profile from a crashed windows-7 machine to my new windows-11. Nothing listed in any forum or help desk works as described. I used to be able to just rename the folder to the exact file name on the new PC, but windows 11 won't let me do anything. It always needs admin permissions and even after I activated the admin account and assigned a password, I still cannot copy to the folder or rename the folder. Every attempt to do this on W-11 fails. It shouldn't be that hard and I'm tired of wasting days playing with this. I have important bookmarks, passwords etc. I want restored, and I need help. Nobody wants to pick up a phone anymore to assist!

I have never used "sync" because I have multiple PCs and each used for different applications and yes some go back to W-7, the operating system that actually worked well. Each PC has Firefox and a distinct bookmark file.

I went to "about:profiles" and created a new profile thinking I could copy to the new folder, but when i switched profiles I couldn't get back to the original default! HELP!

I noticed I cannot log on to amazon.ca or shaw.ca anymore on firefox, why?

not really a request for help since release 147.0.3 searches handoff to awesome and can't be changed by using about:config dropping back to 145.0.2 allows prevention

I signed into my firefox account on my wife's computer and now ALL of her bookmarks, passwords are mixed in with my data. I've signed out of both accounts on that computer. I've signed out and relogged in on my computer. This is not a temporary issue. All of her data is somehow in my account. This seems like a MAJOR security flaw of the software. Were both using Windows 11 computers.

Or is the only option - as a web developer, to make duplicate css flags?

Im also looking for recommendations on barebones/simple parsers that can help make my html/css/js more compatible without messing up the code too much. Im hoping to avoid having to use a build system.

I recall that Firefox used to log-in automatically to websites that require a user name and/or password. This helpful feature seems to have been removed, even for sites that are listed in the "Passwords" display. How can I get it back?

Without the correct password, I cannot sign in. However, I want to use Firefox on Windows 11. When I searched with a 6-digit number, I was not specific enough and my got the wrong? Firefox account. Walk me through this please.

I accidentally typed my protonmail password into the field of my username/mail address. I don't remember what more I did (propably answered yes to save) but now there is as autofilled my password for username always I open my Protonmail account. I am using Firefox as browser (should be the newest version) while Emailing.

I tried to delete autofill of Firefox according to the next advise: "go to Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to "Forms and Autofill," and uncheck "Autofill addresses" to stop saving them"

Then I was astonished. There is no "Forms and Autofill" setting on my Firefox at all!

Protonmail settings didn't help either nor Windows 11 - neither FAQ.

I set the about:config settings when I got the new computer early last year. It's been working fine. Suddenly, searches are popping up again to the urlbar.

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar is still set to false. Keyword.enabled is still set to false.

I see a couple of site references to browser.fixup.alternate.enabled, but it doesn't exist.

How do I get FF back to proper search in the search bar?

Previous solution: switch browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false does not work anymore.

Please help.

hi i am unable to use the middle search bar on the firefox screen , i understand that this search bar is a dummy bar, i have been told that to make this bar work you have to alter the settings using about:config process, and changing the handoff from ture to false , to which I have done in the past and it has worked , but for a reason I cannot understand this seems not to work now , i am completely lost now and i am reaching out to the community for help and advise thank you . The website commonly used by Arizonans to make filings for court, will not work properly with Firefox, even after turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection. I had to use Chrome instead.

Firefox deleted many folders in my bookmarks file. Then, trying to straighten this out, Firefox has completely changed its home page layout and I can not manage it even in the simplest way. I want to restore everything to how it was two or three days ago.

Dear Mozilla,

As a long-time Firefox user and evangelist, it saddens me that the time has come to part ways.

I have seen threads from others commenting on Firefox's aggressive memory consumption and retention. I have not measured this and thus do not feel qualified to comment, but, sadly, I am not surprised.

My own experience in recent times highlights 2 events that have driven me here.

1) Several websites just not responding in that some screens will not even scroll. This is fixed by me moving to a different browser.

2) More seriously - When trying to fill in a web form for a work job application the page was completely unresponsive. When I contacted the web site support their answer was: "Are you using Firefox? Ah, Yes, we are having issues with Firefox that we are trying to resolve. Our suggestion for the time being is, if practical, try using a different browser". That answer worked.

I should add that the usual cache clearing, machine restarts, even Firefox reinstall did nothing to fix either of the above issues.

So with the serious memory greed issues reported by others and my own (dys)functional experiences, I fear the time has come.

Thank you for the last 30 years or so and I am sorry it has come to this.
