I keep my address bar and search bar separate. I wanted to have the address bar execute the search on the already open tab, and the search bar to open a new tab in the background without stealing the focus. I managed to set them up separately, now the address bar does not open a new tab and the search bar does, but the newly opened tab always steals the focus. I'm trying to keep the focus on the already open tab while the search bar opens a new tab without switching to it. Is there a way to achieve this?

After going nuts trying to figure out why my website no longer works properly on Firefox, it was determined by my WebHost, HostGator, that there is an issue with only Firefox. The website works with Edge, Chrome, Safari, etc., just not Firefox.

I wasted many hours trying to adjust WordPress, WooCommerce, etc.

What's wrong:

1 The menus no longer pull down, and cannot be accessed. 2 Products no longer show the long description, and there is now a description tab and an additional information tab, which do not do anything when pressed, and cannot be programmed (the tab or a new page).

I would hate to loose the ability to run my website using Firefox, and it affects my customers as well.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Thanks so much, Scott

I have a problematic site where I have to delete all cookies before I can get access. I have tried setting the "Cookie and Site Data" Exceptions to both "Allow for Session" and "Block". Despite these settings, Firefox continues to store cookies from this site....therefore, I still have to clear them from the "manage data" area before I can gain access.

Is this a Firefox quirk? I am at a loss.

Thanks.

I recently updated Mozilla to v 80.0 (64 bit) I have Mozilla set so that it does not search from the address bar, and I use the optional search bar.

When I create a new tab the default page contains a google search box, as per the attached screen shot. But if I type in that search box, the search term appears in the address bar, and then Mozilla tells me the address doesn't look right.

Why is the search term automatically entered in the address bar? Since I have the seaparate search bar my search term should appear there.

BTW I hate searching from the address bar. If I want to search I type it in the search box, or in the search box in new tab. Separating the search and address bars is one of my favorite features of Mozilla vs the other browsers.

Some weeks ago I start notice, that in Mozila Firefox all videos start have noticeable horizontal line. Later I found that this line appear always on any image ( not only video) when I scroll down any page. As I understand, something wrong with Vertical Synchronization on Mozila browser ( I dont have that problems when use other browser or watch video in video players). I don't have that problem when moving all Mozila window with mouse over windows desktop. I tried do some fixes that I found in internet, but it didn't help (set vertical synchroimpuls in nvidia control panel ).

Can anyone suggest, how I can fix that problem?

Hello there. I have a 'funny' problem since last night. Fierfox in default mode is unable to display Ä Ö Ü on certain websites. It's a fresh installation without any Add-Ons. When entering troubleshooting mode it can display it. So the thing is: something is altering the displaymode of websites betwine modes.

where do I find the variables that do this in the config - or worse in the registry?

When trying to access the Google Developer Profile webpage on Firefox desktop, I encounter many errors. I can't sign in a lot of the times, sometimes I kind of get in but it says my profile isn't finished even though it is. I ended up creating it with MS Edge and accessing it that way after I had done a couple of the Kotlin training exercises to make sure my progress was getting saved. Many other times I get a 404 message; the errors I get vary a bit.

I have even tried starting Firefox in safe mode just to disable all extensions and add-ons, still with no luck.

It is only with Firefox Desktop that I am having this issue. When I use my Android device and bring it up on Firefox mobile, I don't have any of these issues. I see my profile and badges just fine.

Many directions to fix problems direct you to click the 3 bars in the upper corner and select "options". This is not there, there is nothing to select called "options". Why isn't it there? Please help, it's making it impossible to enact fixes, since I can't complete the very first step!

Since the most recent update to 89.0 opening pdfs in the browser, some websites and all log-in areas are using a super bold, unreadable font. PDFs also print out with this font. I tried changing the font manually, and both checking and unchecking the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" box, but it doesn't help. I have no plugins installled This is the Facebook log in for example. The font is so poor you can't tell the 'i' from a lower case 'l'. The pdf sample is from opening it in the browser. If I download it instead, it opens in a normal, readable font. How can I fix this?

How can we remove the "New Tab" option when right clicking a tab? I find this feature absolutely useless as there's already and "+" tab button to create a new tab. I used to be able to reload tabs easily and quickly by Right-Click tab, Left-Click and the Reload option was selected. NOW, I have to move the mouse down to the Reload option, or press the "R" key on the keyboard. Simple things, yes, but something that is easily annoying if it's added when it's not needed and having to change the way we use the browser. What would of been nicer is that "Pinned" tabs would always be pinned, regardless if that window was the last to be closed or not.

Restart Firefox 'Forget about this site' Clear cache Clear site preferences A bunch of stuff in about:config (fallback-to-https, stricttransportpreloadlist etc)
