I use Win 10 Pro. If I want to copy something - a document or site address or use any other control in the menu, sometimes the menu options appear and sometimes they don't. Sometimes nothing happens and I have to hit Esc several times to get a program or menu selection to work. Occasionally, I even have to reboot. I seldom use other browsers but when I do, they don't seem to have a problem. I'm thinking of resetting Firefox but I'm concerned about everything I'll lose. I've tried to simply update my browser but it doesn't help. Suggestions?

Pretty much title.
Since about two weeks when I open firefox the browser freezes every few minutes for 10-15 seconds. Launching firefox in Safe Mode or disabling all extensions didn't help. When I open Task Manager during freezes it shows that Firefox is "Not responding" and when I open sub-tasks it's usually one or two causing the problem. When I close those either firefox closes completely or youtube or reddit crashes, leading me to believe it's something with those sites? Refreshing or reinstalling firefox hasn't helped. I'm on Windows 10 (all updates installed) and Firefox 84.0.1 (x64) as of the time writing this.
I hope someone can help and suggest something. I would hate to switch to another browser, but the problem has become unbearable.

1. I had firefox in a 64bit win7 proff with relatively high specs desktop forever. Last week it started showing update notification every time i restart firefox and I choose to "remind me later" or something like that (I made the settings so that it won't auto install).
2. During that week i did restart firefox and the computer and everything was normal untill yesterday when I did something normal but I rarely do, that is i turned of the computer for more than a minute and then turned it back on. Then firefox started having trouble loading certain webpages. Things like youtube, google maps, google search, bing home page, were flawless, while things like some businesses (i remember craigslist and goodwill) and some famous podcast webpages and my wifi controlled devices struggle (take too long, then message that they were taking too long, but never show up)
3. I first "refreshed" my firefox, then reinstalled it, then when it wasn't fixed deleted the whole thing and tried installing a fresh downloaded version (I think it was 83). The downloaded installer tells me that i already had firefox and if i wish to reinstall it and after that it takes a long time to throw a message at me that starts with ("hmmmm" for "some" reason unknown reason, the installation failed to work) or very similar wording.
4. The only browser left in the computer is the microsoft one that comes with the computer and it does open the modzilla website but refuses to download the installed (obviously) so i have to download it from a windows tablet and transfer it to this computer.
any advice/insight is very much welcome

As a webgroup site manager I usually have a single window open dedicated to multiple pages within the site. I can have as many as a half-dozen tabs ALL with the same name - (then the page-in-use). But all I can see/read is the first part. Is there a way to 'customize' the contents/name/words showing on a tab? Or a way to change the color of the tabs to help differentiate which one is which? I'd like to be able to change "main@beta.groups.io | Messages" to just "Messages" because "main@beta.groups.io | Pending Messages" looks exactly the same until out-of-sight in the tab. Or, I'd be happy enough to make "Messages" green and "Pending Messages" to orange.

Here's a transcript of the error page, if it helps:
Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.youtube.com because this website requires a secure connection.
What can you do about it?
www.youtube.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.
The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.
If you are on a corporate network or using anti-virus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem.
How does one contact Mozilla? They seem to be a corporation with absolutely no contact information at all.

Firefox seems to be a very high user of disc resources. I can hear the drive it's installed on being continuously accessed, and can see in Task Manager it's almost always using the most disc resources of any process. Even with one or a few tabs open, when Firefox isn't being actively used.
Can anyone tell me what is going on, and most importantly if there is a way to reduce the endless disc access. thx,

I hope you help me to retreive them.

I am using the ESR versions of Firefox and would really like to have the clients auto-update as soon as possible but I still want to test new major releases when the come available. Now I know I can use the early releases to test but that pins me down because then I need to be done testing before the public release comes out. So I am looking for an option to install auto-install all minor updates within the same major version but not auto-update to a new major version. Is something like this possible or where can I find this setting?

My wife called me in this afternoon when big red error message popped up "saying" it is a red alert and the web page used Apple's logo on it, said the old 2011 iMac, OS 10.10.5 Yosemite, is "blocked" and has a virus. It had an 877 phone number to call but we failed to write it down. She did nothing after that. When I saw that I pressed the red window page kill button, upper left. Got the rotating rainbow ball. . . computer working overtime. Next, Command-W to kill the webpage, nada. Finally, pressed the hardware ON/OFF button behind left side of screen. On SAFE restart I opened my account not hers and found Firefox had thin, white, flashing lines across the tab bar area(full width) and tabs were flashing individually. Every time you open a tab, this happens or possibly when it is accessing. So, I upgraded Firefox, leaving the OLD version intact. Upgrade I NOW notice is the 64 bit version.
Is there a fix out there? or, is this thing "infected" with the CCP virus or something? Fix for it?
I will shut down and re-open the old version and see if it still happens and post an update here.
