Greetings, I am trying to fill out a PDF form using Firefox's built in PDF viewer and form editor. I'm running Linux (Ubuntu) with Firefox 84. I am able to successfully view and "Open" the PDF within the browser, and even edit the text properly. However, upon saving or printing, the text gets rendered with a massive font size nullifying the ability to edit in browser. I've been trying to find some online resources without success, and can't seem to find others reporting a similar case.

I've disabled all extensions and restarted Firefox, but did not notice any change in behavior. Any tips for debugging? Attached are two pics of the PDF form while editing, and then the rendered PDF after saving.

Hello,

When my Openconnect VPN is on, Firefox takes very long time to open links from outside its own window: ie links opened with xdg-open in Linux (Ctrl+Click). If Openconnect is Off, links open almost instantly as expected.

Here's /etc/resolv.conf when Openconnect is Off. And here /etc/resolv.conf when Openconnect is On: search contains 11 internal domains. Environment: - KDE Plasma 5.20.5 - Firefox 84.0.2 - xdg-utils 1.1.3 - networkmanager-1.26.4 - networkmanager-openconnect-1.2.6 - openconnect-8.09

System proxy settings: No Proxy

What I have tried: - Start Firefox in Safe-mode (no effect) - Explicitly setting Proxy to None / System Default in FF settings (no effect) - Opening links resolvable only inside VPN and just google.com (no effect) Only turning Off Openconnect helps so far. I suspect it's got to do with name resolution (maybe routing as well?), but have no conclusive evidence. Btw, Chrome is not affected by this behavior.

Thank you

I'm looking for an extension that I presume exists, but I'm not able to find it: I want to rate websites in the way photo apps allow you to rate your photos, i.e. assign a number of stars to them.

Like https://mozilla.org ★★★★☆

One use case: I'm comparing products where I don't necessarily find something so good that I can come to conclusion now, so I need a way to save it.

Do you know such an extension or have good ideas how to search it?

I have set the Downloads preference to "Always ask you where to save files".

When I download a file (I usually download PDF files), Firefox presents the file picker dialog with some directory pre-selected.

I would expect Firefox to pre-select the directory where I saved my most recent file.

However, Firefox often switches between several of my recent directory, seemingly absolutely arbitrarily. It would present the most recent directory e.g. 5 times in a row then suddenly switch to some other directory on its own.

This is EXTREMELY annoying and bad, as it is easy to overlook the changed directory and save the file in an unintended directory. It happened several times to me.

This behavior so destructive and annoying that I would consider it a bug that should get fixed (other browsers do not do this!). However if it is for some strange reason considered to be a feature, how can it turned off and how can Firefox be made to ALWAYS present the most recent download directory?

Is it possible to save anything Firefox already downloaded? Currently all the “save” buttons seem to mean “download”; even the “view source” button makes additional request which may fail or even redirect (so e.g. clicking that on http://a.b/c may led one to view-source:http://d.e/f if the former page became a redirect in the meantime)

I have a VMware VM used as a desktop by a team and they've reported that Firefox only shows a blank screen. It doesn't respond to anything, if I click the burger and click options then it doesn't even open a new tab. And I can't even access about:config.

However I've discovered that if I access the desktop via the VMware console then FF works perfectly fine, if I RDP onto the desktop and run FF I get the behavior as I've described.

Even weirder...is if I launch the browser in an RDP session and then seize the session via the VMware console then the behavior stays there until I relaunch it.

And vice versa if I launch the browser in the vmware console and then log in via RDP the browser works perfectly fine until I relaunch it!

What could be causing this?!

I've tried: Disabling hardware acceleration Cleanly uninstalling Reinstalling both the latest version and latest ESR Removing my profile All resulted in in the same blank FF.

No other VM running FF is experiencing this issue, and I'm the only one with rights to modify things.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello there,

I am using Firefox 84.0.3. When I type in the search bar suggestions show up that's ok but I feel a little awkward when I have to press Up/Down arrow to focus items in search suggestion list. Instead want to use the Tab key. If i want to change the search engine i can use Alt + Up/Down arrow.

Thanks.

Ok, this is an annoying thing which keeps tripping me up.

Here is what Firefox shows me:

file:///home/me/Pictures/Screenshot%20from%202021-01-17%2020-44-04.png

Oh, great and there is no "preview" I can see. (I'll see what happens when I get to the post part)

Fine. But this is NOT what I am supposed to see.

Attention to the right of the input window is the (x) button.

Also clicking on the input fields, not much exciting happens.

This is what Chrome shows me on the same site:

file:///home/me/Pictures/Screenshot%20from%202021-01-17%2020-54-02.png

If I click on the clock icon (shown here in red) I get this lovely pop up.

Yes, I have the "default" ubuntu install of Firefox. Using .... Snap (or what ever it is called)

If I knew/thought on "DAY ONE" when I updated, I would have removed it and gone with the official installation.

I still can't find a clear (safe and easy) way to get rid of the supplied version and get the official one installed all the time keeping bookmarks, cookies, tabs etc. (That's another story.)

But is this something I haven't set in Firefox, or a ..... bug?

Hi, I use FireFox (edit - 82.0.4 from LM repos) for my browser when using Linux Mint (I use it on WIn10 as well but this query is specific to LM). I use ClamAV for virus scanning. ClamAV has found Js.Coinminer.Generic-7132237-0 in /home/username/.mozilla/firefox/puhh983l.default-release/extensions/adblockultimate@adblockultimate.net.xpi I've searched and found some mention that it might be a false positive but nothing confirming that info so far from my searching. What have I done so far: Done a fresh reinstalled of ClamAV following the ClamAV install procedure. Checked ClamAV is up to date by checking log files and latest available on the ClamAV website. Done a fresh install of FireFox Reinstalled add-ons one by one. ClamAV only finds the Coinminer once Adblock ultimate is installed/added. I'd like to keep Adblock ultimate as it does what I want it to do easily and efficiently but am happy to remove it to avoid the coinminer (if it is a problem and not a false positive) Can you help or have any advice. Thanks
