Video issues...

I've exhausted my resources trying to work around a bug between HTML5 player and Firefox, and I was hoping you could help.
My embedded videos, which primarily uses HTML5 player plays back extremely choppy with Firefox (when in full screen). I spent several hours consulting with lead technicians at Vimeo, and they informed me that there is an incompatibility with Firefox and HTML5. I then had a developer code the site to use Flash for Firefox, and HTML5 for all other browsers. Now my CSS for the videos no longer works, and I'm still trying to figure out a work around for this as well.
This does not feel good to use older technology to get my videos to work properly, especially since I've always seen Firefox as cutting edge (it's my favorite browser, you know ;)). I really wish I could go back to using HTML5 for ALL of my browsers, but I really cannot have the videos playing choppy.
Is there any information you could offer to help? I surely would appreciate it.

FINALLY, the very last thing I tried was the extensions... Turns out the DOM inspector 2.0.14 is what is making the video choppy- and apparently I'm not the only one who has had this problem.
The question is... Is there any solution? I can't expect folks to change their browser settings, simply to view my video properly...
If there is no solution to this, I guess I'll just have to continue to use Flash with Firefox- which is disappointing...

Hi Sharon, I'm having trouble finding stuff about the DOM Inspector extension and choppy video. If you still have those links in your history, did any of them mention this being a new issue or any workarounds?
Considering the demographics of your users, I would guess that most would not have installed the DOM Inspector extension. Now that a set of developer tools are built-in, I would imagine that percentage of the user base will go down over time. Hard to know, though, what any one individual will have.

Sure! Here is the link. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding some of the comments, but that is what I gathered.
Either way, when I was trouble shooting, this was the only factor that elicited the choppy playback. The video played fine in Safe Mode, and will all extensions disabled. It was only when I enabled DOM inspector that the problem reappeared.
I think a lot more folks are using DOMi these days, especially with the increase in customizable WP themes.
If it's not fixable, it's just not worth the choppy playback. At least to me...
The only work around I've come up with is to have Firefox use Flash, and all other browsers use HTML5 player. It's inconvenient and I lose some of the style, but at least it plays properly.

I had no problems with DOM Inspector 2.0.14 installed and enabled. I also can't find any reports of this. Feel free to file a bug report as mentioned previously if
- Everything is okay when you start Firefox in a brand new profile profile.
- The problem crops up again after you install DOM Inspector and restart Firefox when prompted.

I don't see what one has to do with the other. Firefox has a multitude of developer tools, including a web page inspector. I only have DOM Inspector because I need to examine Firefox user interface elements.
As I mentioned, I had no problems with your videos with DOM Inspector installed and enabled. DOM Inspector has close to 150000 users, which makes it the 115th most popular Firefox add-on. On top of that, I think those stats include Seamonkey (DOM Inspector is bundled with Seamonkey).
