Lightweight themes ''(formerly known a Personas)'' are only intended to provide a background image for the toolbar areas of Firefox ''(known as the User Interface)'', not the content area of the window where web content appears. ok, since you are saying that my theme is a lightweight theme, are there "heavy weight themes" that would also theme the 'content' areas?

With lightweight theme is meant that you only get a background image in the toolbar area and not other style changes that a full (complete) theme adds to the user interface. There aren't any Firefox themes that style the content area, you would need an extension to change that area.
