Flash stops working and freezes firefox. I have Fast dial and dont want to lose it so what can I do to fix this?
It doesnt matter what site or what I am doing it will come up randomly and freeze firefox then finally a box pops up and says Flash is busy or not responding continue or stop plugin. Naturally I stop plugin. I always install the latest flash versions I have even uninstall and reinstalled flash and downgraded and still no change or it bugs me to update. I am using firefox 26.0 I usually stay away from the betas if all possible. My biggest worry with using the reset firefox or making a new profile is my fast dial I have tons of sites right there waiting for me to click on and im afraid if I do all this I will lose it. But I have used same profile for years and years so maybe its time. I will just have to redo my fast dial I guess Unless someone can come up with another way to do it. I have disabled hardware acceleration on firefox I have to it makes my browser do some weird things. I also have disabled Hardware acceleration in flash as well. I have cleant temp files and registry. I am good with computers but have never seen issues like this with flash. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks.

Its ok about the profile manager. I used to use Mozbackup back in the day lol. Then i just started backing up that folder which works good too. I used the script to delete prefetch files and so far all is good and Ive done everything I usually do. It usually crashed more on facebook games and so far so good. It still crashed when watching video also but that is even fine now. Weird that doing a little thing like that fixes a big problem such as that. But I do appreciate all replies and all the advice. Sounds like you have done a lot. Have you tried to make a new profile for TESTING purposes only? You could have a bad profile. it is possible.
Also, have you tried protect mode for flash? I wrote up a bat file to set it up so you don't have to go digging through system files.
Also i have some unorthodox methods you will not see in these forums to try out if you are interested as they have resolved several peoples that i can confirm issue. I have been going crash free for over 6 months now since i implemented. Believe me some issues nothing in these forums will resolve. Click on my name on the left there is a blog i created just for this issue with all the info and some of the fixes. Everything is fully automated. Very little user interaction.
This will NOT work for everyone, but you cant hurt by trying

Im trying the new profile now and fresh firefox install. I did backup my old one but now since i have done the new profile my fast dial is all out of whack everything still there but the thumbnails are blurry and it just doesnt look right. But i will try everything you have said and whats on your website and get back to ya. I appreciate the response.

Firefox.exe -p is the profile manager. Did you look how to back up a Firefox profile first?
In my case, this was caused by the combination of the protected mode feature and a Windows update. You have to disable protected mode. See: Flash hangs Firefox (eventually get script continue/stop dialog).
I just went to my C Users folder and copied the mozilla folder out and I exported bookmark folder. But since the last message the new profile did not work did the same thing. So I have used the fix off your site Carm and it seems to be working so far so good cause i went back to my old profile fast dial was so screwed up on the new one it was insane.
Now i feel bad about not telling you about the profile manager, b/c its easy to switch between them.
Also look up Mozilla Backup, that is a really cool way to back up your entire Firefox profile.
So let us know how that worked, and which solution did you use, my script to delete prefetch files or disable plugin conatiner.exe?
