I use MF 23 on Win 7 at work. I use MF 23 on Win 8 at home. I just noticed I can't clear recent history at work due to the very small pop-up window. I changed the theme but it happened again. I'm sure it works normally at home on Win 8.

The pop-up window that appears at work is as small that the period options are not visible. Also it can't be manually resized. I attach a screenshot:

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

This can be caused by code changes regarding HiDPI support for high resolution displays that have landed in Firefox 22 and later (bug #844604).

You can set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config page to 1.0 (current default value is -1.0) to restore the behavior of previous Firefox versions.

If necessary, adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting with 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.0 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.
Use an extension to adjust the text size in the user interface and the page zoom in the browser window.

Use this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface.

You can look at the Default FullZoom Level or NoScript extension if web pages need to be adjusted after changing layout.css.devPixelsPerPx.

Thank you!

I followed the instructions and the problem persisted in Safe Mode too:

I didn't install new add-ons soon and I have almost all same add-ons at home. If some of them causes this it is probably some of the ones I have only here, or the prob is connected with Win 7 too.

Thank you! I changed layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 but the problem persisted. Tomorrow I'll try to change it again together with the other settings you suggested.

I remember besides the add-ons I updates extensions like Java, Flash Player and Shockwave and I definitely don't have Java extension on my home PC.
