On my new web site Dashboard, when making any Chamges or Updates, I either get a AJAX Issue or FF CRASHES, is there a Fix for this?
- Length of time - last 4 months, starting with FF V16 thru V20.
- Frequency - On every dashboard attempt to Update my new web site pages, using RedFrame.com.
- Errors - window message - "AJAX issue here - 0 Reason -error" when update icon Hangs or Freezes. (photos available).
- RedFrame Support - Crashes & hangs are attributed to Missing, Corrupt, or Old Code on FireFox.
- Web browsers either not affected or minimally affected - Google Chrome (most stable) and Safari (less incidents)

I'm curious about this part --
RedFrame Support - Crashes & hangs are attributed to Missing, Corrupt, or Old Code on FireFox.
-- did they suggest typical troubleshooting methods such as:
- Clearing your Firefox browser cache
- Removing your redframe.com cookies
- Testing with add-ons disabled
For the first two: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Cmd+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Here you can individually remove them. Then try reloading the page and logging back in. Does that help?
jscher2000, thanks for your quick response/reply. - About the typical troubleshooting methods - Yes I tried every known method, including:
- Updating from FF 16 to 20.
- Updated my iMac from 4 to 6 GB of RAM.
- Logging Out and back in.
- Sometimes to "test" the system, I tried changing 1 word or a period, then trying to Update the page again; 70% of the time it Hung or Crashed.
- From the 2 suggestions you made, I have been using a Protocol of Clearing all the Cache(s), Before & After, including the Web Content Cache too. It has made no difference.
- BTW, Only Chrome gave the AJAX Error Message; FF & Safari did not.
Last night, I even did a hard 'Re-set' of FF20; No it didn't help. - The ONLY Solution that RedFrame suggested that worked most of the time as to switch to Google Chrome (which is their Default Browser). - With Chrome, Version 26.0.1410.63, I only get about 10 to 15% Crashes or hangs, with the same AJAX Error 0 message. (I have photos) - With Safari, Version 5.1.8 (6534.58.2), (without Adobe), I get about 15 to 20%.
Although last night, I didn't experience any problems with it (knock on wood).
- With FF, V20, it's 90 to 95% of the time. - Logically, it made sense to me that there is or might a "Coding" problem with FF, although it has always been my Default/Favorite browser. Chrome is my least favorite, But, What are you going do? - Lastly between, Chrome & Safari, I now have my most of my web site almost finished (99%), but it taken almost 4 months to do it.
My gut intuition is that this is an issue with RedFrame's Coding, rather than Mozilla ... but, IT could also be my Hosting Company, NetFirms; and they have been absolutely of No Use or help, which is why I'm dropping them on the next subscription.

How does the dashboard work: does it run on your hosting account, or on redframe.com? Just wonder whether if I sign up for their 15 day trial I could learn anything useful.
Yes, on one of the photos I included, you can see that I am using RedFrame's Dashboard (requires an account, but the trial will do). I have to tell you that I have completely frustrated them (Tech Support), and I'm sure that know my Name pretty well. There has also been a time delay, as I live in Hawaii, and they are back East. I was also able to figure & configure some 'work-arounds' on my iMac, that they were not aware of, mainly because they code for MS windows, and know very little about Mac's.
Yes, I think that you could learn a lot from signing on a trial basis. I was using Contribute for Web Site Development before & after, it got acquired by Adobe. It was very unstable on a Mac, which is why I switched, as well as, I really like the Image Optimization that RedFrame uses; as my Photo's are well-rendered and flawless.
