My start page was changed without my knowledge or consent. Don't know how but maybe it was the most recent Firefox upgrade. How can I prevent this? It really pisses me off.

Chosen solution

Firefox updates don't change the users Homepage, but Malware does.

What page was your Homepage changed to?

Knowing that may help determine what to recommend as the fix.

hello john, firefox doesn't change your homepage in an update (it might show a one-time page on what's new in the updated version though) - maybe some third-party addon/adware has overwritten your user settings.

please have a look in firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.

Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page

Found a search toolbar that I did not recognize, possibly a remnant of my epic battle with SearchQ ( real stinker ).
