Youtube reply button in comment section does not work
As of today the "reply" button in the comment section on any youtube video has stopped working, Usually it brings up an input field when clicked, but now I get nothing except a blue glow around the button (cropped picture of what I see)
So far I have attempted the following with no success
- restarting firefox
- restarting the computer
- reinstalling latest version of flash
The button works if I access a video page through internet explorer, but I despise that browser.
Chosen solution
Alright, it seems to be fixed.
Steps I took are as follows
- Delete my G+ account (you should be able to do this somewhere at plus.google.com )
- Once deleted, you should see "+You" in the grey bar at the top when you are on google websites instead of "+<your name>
- Sign out and back into youtube.
I hope anyone else with the same issue finds this useful.

I appears we are isolating it. If you have a G+ account for the same login as your Youtube, you will get this issue. If you do not have a G+ account, you should not be having this specific problem. If you do have a G+ account, three current options: 1. Delete your G+ account 2. Wait it out for a fix 3. Chose to chose your real name
So I chose to remove my G+ account. I chose the option that does not delete everything (say picasa, local reviews, etc).
Within one minute of doing this, I could post replies.
I never used G+, I was surprised to find I had one.
In any case, I deleted it, but I am still unable to post replies several minutes later
At first I was unable to, so I went back into my Google settings to see what was left. I did not find much. I clicked on the You+ at the very top left of page (in grey bar), and that took me to a page asking me to "Upgrade" to G+. So I knew it was removed. I returned to Youtube, and boom, I was posting replies. Working solid now since.

If you neither want to use your real name on YouTube (you wish to maintain privacy) nor want to delete your Google+ profile (you use it to communicate with people), don't follow the other answers here.
Instead, simply go to the following page and install the script. There is also a handy bookmarklet you can use in addition to the script (where script fails) or in lieu of the script.
Script and bookmarklet are available at YouTube Comment Reply Fix.
PS1: I recommend using Scriptish extension for Firefox instead of Greasemonkey.
PS2: This is not an issue with Firefox, rather it is an issue with YouTube accounts that have a Google+ profile and chose to not use real name on YouTube.
