I saw you have a newsletter but I'm not interested in betas version, what the next project landmarks are or even what the features new release are.

I simply want to know when the latest release became available and it's version (number) ; nothing more please. So I'd receive 1 very short & simple email every few months.

I love that download.com has such a feature that send me the latest versions of the softwares added to my downloaded list. I'd like something similar for Firefox.

There is the Mozilla Announce newsgroup (https://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/#announce), but it is for Firefox, Thunderbird, and a few other projects as well.

BTW, the Firefox you are running is very out of date, I would update at the very least to Firefox 3.6.28 to get security fixes, and honestly, you should update to Firefox 11, as the 3.6 release will be dropped from support very soon.
