Browser invisible except in Maximize - cannot resize or move

Running WinXP SP3 with 2gb memory on Dell inspiron e1505. When I upgraded to 8.0, the only way i can see the browser is in maximized. When I try to see it smaller (using double windows icon on title bar), it "disappears" to the UL side of the screen. When I click on move or size from the taskbar "firefox" icon, the arrow goes to far UL of screen, but I am not able to size or resize or move from there, and no part of the app is visible. ???
