Chosen solution

Perhaps because you are showing the menu bar, which is supposed to be one or the other.

View > Toolbars > (uncheck) Menu Bar

Or possibly you are in Full Screen mode which is toggled on/off with F11

You can make Firefox 6.0 look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 6.0, look like 3.6). Whether or not you make changes, you should be aware of what has changed and what you have to do to use changed or missing features.

There is a lot more beyond those first 10 steps listed, if you want to make Firefox more functional.

Thanks...I Unchecked the Menu bar and there it was. Do I have to check the menu bar when i wish to use it ? e.g. History, tools ?

You can press "Alt" and the toolbars will be shown temporarily.

Most but not all items are in the red/orange Firefox button, but I have so many things from Extensions that only the toolbars works for me (and really uses about the same amount of space), the entire organization would be lost if extensions menus were separated from similar Firefox menus.

Read the first reply about th0se first ten items even if you don't display all the toolbars most of the time there are usage notes in there, also see item #31 if you don't know how the session restore through History works, or if you would prefer the old warning upon closing.

Thanks for the help. I already have figured it out.
