Firefox crashes when opening online banking

When trying to open my online banking (Banco do Brasil) firefox crashes. The bank uses an extension called Security Module (modulo de segurança) and I can't access the bank through Firefox. Chrome and IE8 works fine. WinXP SP3 Firefox 3.6.13 Java 6r23 Online banking extension is the latest version (1.0.18.2)
