I have been using Mozilla for quite awhile and suddenly this past week it will not load. You click on the icon and nothing happens. I deleted it and re-installed it and it still won't work. My IE works just fine and Mozilla works well on my other computer. I have run virus programs, registry programs, RegCure, PC Tools, etc...... I checked to see if the files were still there and they are. I am perplexed on why this won't work. Any ideas? Thank you

The problem also is I get no error replies so I don't know why this is happening. I click on the icon and either nothing happens or I get a small little box with a minimize and close buttons and nothing else.

Have you tried creating a new profile? Your profile stores the settings you made in Firefox. In some cases a new profile may need to be created to correct a problem.

Using the Profile Manager, create a new profile. If you can start Firefox with the new profile, see Recovering important data from an old profile.

I tried this and it said Firefox has crashed and it will send a report. I can not even change my profile.

To fix problems caused by corrupt files in the installation folder, perform a clean install. This will not affect bookmarks, settings, or history.

  1. Hold down the Windows logo key and press R to bring up the Run dialog.
  2. Type %PROGRAMFILES% (or %PROGRAMFILES(x86)% on 64-bit Windows and press OK.
  3. Right click on the Mozilla Firefox folder and press Rename.
  4. Type in a new name, such as Old Firefox
  5. Press Yes to confirm the name change
  6. Install Firefox normally from http://www.mozilla.com
