What are the new features punched in to frefox 3.6 wrt html, css etc. Basically pages that work fine in firefox 2.0 are expected to work fine in firefox 3.6.10. Is it so or there needs to be any change?

That is always hard to tell. If you use features that are no longer supported or render differently because of changes or bug fixes then the answer is no
