Upgraded to version 3.6.9 last night. Firefox now will not open my homepage or any bookmarked websites. Home page and bookmarks were working fine before the 'upgrade'. I tried with and without greasemonkey enabled, tried clearing cache, tried completely shutting computer down and rebooting, all to no avail. I have now uninstalled Firefox and came looking for the older version - can't find it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
