Excellent request!

I notice where there is no page name (e.g., home page with just a slash), Firefox does grab the page title. If there is a way to compel this behavior for all pages, I don't recall reading about it.

If further research is unavailing, you can submit it as a suggestion. The traditional place for "non-bug feedback" is http://hendrix.mozilla.org/ but there probably are other places as well.
