Chosen solution

I doubt very much that installing Firefox would cause a problem like that (assuming you downloaded Firefox from an official Mozilla download mirror site), but I would be curious what caused the Firefox installation procedure to crash initially.

If you have internet access with another PC my advice is to go to a Windows forum (like this one - http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php ) and ask for help with trying to get Vista to boot before doing anything as drastic as re-installing Vista. I have never used Vista myself, but older versions of Windows have a Safe Mode that launches a bare minimum of services, and there's also a ScanDisk routine that can be launched.

Application

  • User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

More Information

Installation did not run smooth. The install crashed - then I went into tools downloads to finish install V3.6.6. I did this at night but next day computer was frozen. I rebooted and got the blue screen error c00021a (fatal system error). Any possibility the firefox install caused this? My system will not boot - looks like I will need to do a complete reinstall
