how do i move bookmarks along the bookmarks tab
bold text how do i move bookmarks along the bookmarks tab
I have just bought a new computer. Got firefox working and I have bookmarks on the bookmarks tab below the search box.
I used to be able to move bookmark tabs along it and it was my main organisational method.
OR I would drag a url down from the search bar to put it on the bookmark tab below
neither of these methods work any longer and it is a real problem.
I cannot think of a worst thing you could have done.
Help how do i move a bookmark along the bookmark tab, or move a url to the bookmark tab, or move those bookmarks which I can't see to the visible section below the search bar

The fastest way to test is by using Troubleshoot Mode.
Menu > Help > Troubleshoot Mode...
In the confirmation pop-up, click Restart.
In this mode, all your extensions and custom settings are temporarily disabled.
Test.

Sorry, I have no idea how your reply has anything to do with my question.

In a grumpy mood. I tried the troubleshooting mode, as George said. (But George you might have explained why this might be a solution!)
Menu > Help > Troubleshoot Mode...
In the confirmation pop-up, click Restart.
In troubleshooting mode I could indeed move my bookmarks and put bookmarks into the bookmarks bar.
I then turned off troubleshooting mode, and it still worked.
So thanks

That is excellent news, Kevin!
Why Troubleshoot Mode Fixed Your Bookmarks Issue
When you start in Troubleshoot Mode, Firefox effectively runs a "clean" session. It temporarily disables all your Add-ons /extensions and custom user settings. This isolated the browser's core functions from any external influence.
Because the drag-and-drop feature worked in Troubleshoot Mode, it proved that one of your extensions was the problem. Some add-ons can mistakenly intercept or block the mouse commands that Firefox uses for drag-and-drop on the toolbar.
By restarting Firefox normally after a successful session in Troubleshoot Mode, Firefox forces a re-initialization of its core components and the way it loads your saved profile settings. This clean restart can clear the conflict/cache issue that the misbehaving add-on maybe had created, allowing the core bookmark function to properly reclaim control, even when the add-ons are re-enabled.
thank you George! I am appreciate the explanation.
