passwords are not accepted for websites
My password is accepted to get into Firefox but not accepted to sync, I guess it is. It used to do so for years but now will not after the last update. Doing what the threads already suggested does not work in part because my Firefox does not even have the same places to activate what the suggestions offer.

I am using Windows 10.
Step 1: Verify Your Firefox Account Credentials
Check Your Password: Make sure you are entering the correct password for your Firefox account. If you're unsure, you can reset your password by going to the Firefox Account Recovery page. Check Your Email: Ensure that you are using the correct email address associated with your Firefox account.
Step 2: Sign Out and Sign Back In
Open Firefox and click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner. Click on Settings (or Options). In the Firefox Account section, click on Disconnect or Sign Out. After signing out, sign back in using your Firefox account credentials.
Step 3: Check Sync Settings
After signing back in, go to Settings (or Options). Click on Firefox Account. Ensure that the items you want to sync (like bookmarks, history, passwords, etc.) are checked.
Step 4: Check for Updates
Make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox:
Click on the menu button and select Help. Click on About Firefox. Firefox will check for updates and install them if available. Restart Firefox after updating.
Step 5: Disable Extensions
Sometimes, extensions can interfere with the syncing process:
Click on the menu button and select Add-ons and themes. Go to the Extensions tab and disable all extensions. Restart Firefox and try syncing again.
Step 6: Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings
Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking Firefox from accessing the internet. You may need to add Firefox as an exception in your firewall or antivirus settings. Step 7: Create a New Firefox Profile
If the issue persists, you can try creating a new Firefox profile to see if the problem is related to your current profile:
Type about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter. Click on Create a New Profile and follow the prompts. Start Firefox with the new profile and sign in to your Firefox account.
Step 8: Contact Mozilla Support
If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to Mozilla Support for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or be aware of any ongoing issues with Firefox accounts.
Thanks, but as I feared, my password, which has worked when using firefox for accessing it, no longer is accepted so I cannot even get firefox to load once I signed out. I am able to get in without trouble on chrome or elsewhere.
Sorry! I didn't clarify I have meant Mozilla is where I was and would like to again use Firefox passwords as I have for years!
Also, your wonderful reply comes up for me under Mozilla Support, so how to I go into the actual workers? Thanks for your help!
1. Reset Your Firefox Account Password:
Since you mentioned that your password is not being accepted in Firefox but works in other browsers, resetting your password is a good first step:
Go to the Firefox Account Recovery page. Enter the email address associated with your Firefox account and follow the instructions to reset your password.
2. Sign In to Firefox:
Once you have reset your password, open Firefox and try signing in again:
Click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner. Go to Settings (or Options). In the Firefox Account section, sign in with your new password.
3. Sync Your Passwords:
After signing in, ensure that your passwords are syncing correctly:
Go to Settings > Firefox Account. Make sure that the option to sync Logins is enabled.
4. Accessing Mozilla Support:
If you need to contact Mozilla support directly:
Visit the Mozilla Support page. You can search for your issue or click on "Get Help" to find options for contacting support. You can also post your question in the community forums, where other users and Mozilla staff can provide assistance.
5. Using Firefox on Other Devices:
If you can access your Firefox account on other devices (like Chrome), you can still use the password manager there. However, to fully utilize Firefox's features, it's best to resolve the login issue in the Firefox app. 6. Creating a New Profile:
If you continue to have issues, creating a new Firefox profile might help:
Type about:profiles in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. Click on Create a New Profile and follow the prompts. Start Firefox with the new profile and sign in to your Firefox account.
7. Reinstall Firefox:
If all else fails, consider uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Make sure to back up your bookmarks and any important data before doing this. 8. Check for Updates:
Ensure that you are using the latest version of Firefox. Go to the menu, select Help, and then About Firefox to check for updates.
